Great food but can be a little noisy

Went to this café with family for brunch one Sunday morning. Have been to this café before hence our reason for returning. The food was excellent, the coffees hot and the service friendly. I have been going to the Richmond Hill cafe and larder for the last 2 years. I first discovered it for lunch and then have been going consistently for breakfast. I ALWAYS order the corn fritters with salmon as they are the BEST corn fritters i have ever tasted! But the best thing about this place is that the service... More

A very classic an yet modern establishment. So many choices I could not try them all. Does not mean I haven't tried. Their parfait is to die for, so smooth and creamy. Pure decadence. If it wasn't for the fact it is so fattening I could live of both the parfait an the brioche. The fact that they have a... More

This place has been here for decades and it has stood tall for this long and by what I had for brunch I can see why! It was beautiful just a perfect. My potato rosti was perfect as were my perfectly cooked poached eggs & the smoked salmon was fresh as they come! Classic flavours that work together and when... More

Have been going to the Richmond Larder for a few years when visiting Melbourne. Although it gas changed hands we still find the food and service to be good. The pancakes are delicious as well as the poached eggs with bacon, tomato and mushrooms. It keeps you going for most of the day. The coffee is always good. A visit to the... More

What is it about sitting next to a window in a cafe? It's just cosy and often more .... personal space. We asked for the one remaining window seat at Richmond Hill, " Sorry it's reserved" . Fair enough. Well 10 minutes later the same waitress says"Would you like a window seat?" I nearly fell off my chai latte! You... More

After an absence (interstate) of several years, we were delighted to find that the standards hadn't slipped - despite a couple of changes of ownership. Our family group enjoyed a wonderful lunch, with very good food and wines. The friendly, efficient staff also did a great job. Finally, we had to pay an obligatory visit to the cheese room -... I went to lunch there this week with a friend, it was once our favourite place. It is obviously under new management. The menu was disappointing, it being summertime, we expected the usual lovely cool salads.Alas, choice was very limited, so we settled for Fish and Chips, both good but not a scrap of salad, thankfully it was served with... Every trip to Melbourne is not complete unless we visit Richmond Hill Larder for either breakfast or lunch. Their breakfasts are modern and have subtle flavours that bring out the best in the fresh produce - corn fritters - YUM!! Love their charcouterie boards using their cheeses from the larder and freshly sliced meats. The salads for lunch are amazing!!!
