Description: When we opened the doors to MoVida in Hosier lane, Melbourne in 2003 no one knew what to expect. Here was this little bar on a graffiti covered cobbled lane near the cathedral serving Spanish tapas and shared plates in a down lit room playing funky tunes. It's the kind of place you can come in for a beer and a jamon croquetta at the bar and then move across to a table and share a plate of slow braised lamb, some patatas a lo pobre and down some seriously good Spanish red wine.

What more can you say about a commissioned laneway for street art and graffiti, you need to look more closely for the intricacies. It's an evolving lane, and needs to be visited on a regular basis just to take stock of the changes, and you may even to be able to catch a glimpse of an actual artist at work.... More

It isn't the easiest place to get into but worth the effort. We sat down to a sensational set menu. Every dish was a treat, not knowing what was next added to the delight of each dish. The seating and atmosphere was good, service exceptional, and the food excellent. It is not cheap but given the quality still great value.

We love heading here to get our Tapas fix whilst in Melb. Busy and bustling but worth waiting for, which sometimes can be a while. If its too long try Little Movida next door. just as good but faster

Arriving at 5pmish on a week night, the place was already packed. Tried beforehand to make a booking but all booked out. No surprises there. Why? The food is gorgeous - oysters that have just left the sea; mussels like few others I have tasted; chicken mayo sandwiched between crisped off baguette. Absolutely delicious. And filling, even though it's really... More

We had a pre theatre dinner here, so limited time. We tried between us 4 tapas and 1 Racione, and none disappointed. The beef cheek and cauliflower was a standout, but the 25 minute wait from the last tapas before this was served put us under time pressure - perhaps a warning from the very lovely waitresses at the time... Recommended to me by a friend I wasn't sure, not historically a fan of tapas, wouldn't be my first choice of cuisine....wow am I glad I ignored myself! This place is amazing. The food was some of the best I've tasted, so clever and perfectly balanced. and the chocolate and olive oil dessert may sit as one of my favourites... More
