Cold smoked mackeral - delicious, just a great, fun place to go. Recommend it. Chicken escabeche too - very nice
The first time I went to Mo Vida was to celebrate my 10th Anniversary. That trip to Melbourne was all about dining out and seeing the sites! Mo Vida was on our list of places we must try and it was OK but only that. The service was great, the atmosphere excellent but the food was not at all exceptional... More
Having been here several times over the years when visiting Melbourne it is astonishing how the food and service can always be of a high level the good thing is that there a all ways specials and perennial favourites such as the wagu egg and the crouchettes A tip book well in advance to get in one of the best... Excellent food, good service and fun ambience-what more could one want? This was our first visit to Movida and all four of us were very impressed. Each dish was excellent. The tapas are small (too small for sharing) so the waiter suggested three per person - my favourite was the smoked eel croquette. The raciones were larger portions, and the... More
Sure, it's not cheap...it's not even reasonably priced...it's actually quite expensive...but it's worth it! We ordered a selection of the tapas, ranging from the good to the exceptional. We then ordered a couple of the other dishes, the Mushrooms & the Air-dried Wagyu, & were blown away. Amazing flavours! Along with the great service & drinks, this place is a... More
Movida next door, just like movida but with fresh seafood on ice. The place was jumping packed as expected on a Saturday night but the staff seemed to handle it all with aplomb (only a 15 minute wait despite it being packed to the door). As expected the food was great, simple fresh flavours backed up with a great wine... More
Had a company dinner here, impressive service and the food was top notch. Stayed on the night went and it turned in to one of those dinners where you end up having a blast until early hours of the morning. Will be back for sure.
We booked for lunch on a Sunday and we had never been before. I had been reviewing Melbourne restaurants on Tripadvisor in anticipation of a recent weekend visit. MoVida sounded great and you can book for lunch, not dinner I believe. Hosiers Lane is an awesome location for a restaurant given the graffiti art and is worth a visit separately.... More
Even when eating as a single....not always the case in some places...! At the bar, in the thick of it, great tapas, great wine. Left full, happy and having enjoyed a great evening.
Went with friends on Sunday night- every part of the experience was great, from the brilliant service of the bookings team down to the attention to detail and service of the restaurant staff. We ordered as much as we could eat- the braised beef cheek was melt in the mouth divine, and everything else was also delicious. The staff had... More
