Description: When we opened the doors to MoVida in Hosier lane, Melbourne in 2003 no one knew what to expect. Here was this little bar on a graffiti covered cobbled lane near the cathedral serving Spanish tapas and shared plates in a down lit room playing funky tunes. It's the kind of place you can come in for a beer and a jamon croquetta at the bar and then move across to a table and share a plate of slow braised lamb, some patatas a lo pobre and down some seriously good Spanish red wine.

Lunch with business contact. Chose all tapas items and were blown away by design, style and taste of food. Really is a very good bistro. 10/10.

We ate well at MoVida. It was late (9.45pm is late in Melbourne) and we had to rush a little, but the food was great and the place was still lively.

We knew from other's reviews that Movida was highly regarded and it didn't disappoint. Good service, very tasty food, and nice surroundings. The prices were pretty reasonable for the quality of food on offer, although drinks were a little pricey. The only minor negative was the noise, which made conversation a little challenging at times.

This was my second visit to this beautiful tapas restaurant located on a funky lane way with lots of interesting graffiti art work. My friend and I sat at the bar for late Friday lunch on 15 Aug 2014 and the guy at the bar was really good. He recommended awesome cocktails and amazing tapas. We left feeling a little... More

Clean fresh food, outstanding wait staff and a fine selection of wine and beers. Pleasant environment, and a must for people visiting Melbourne.

We went here after a recommendation on the hotel map. It was really nice. Very small tapas and not cheap but good quality ingredients and not your usual combinations. We really enjoyed the anchovy one with sorbet. Had a jug of sangria and that was also very nice.

None of your standard fare here. No same old same old Spanish churn! This place has the very best tapas I have tasted even after recent visits to Spain. They capture the best of Spanish style with a mix of local ingredients interpreted with a rich Latin flavour. Service friendly quick all you want. Prices very reasonable. Heaps of Tapas... More
