Description: When we opened the doors to MoVida in Hosier lane, Melbourne in 2003 no one knew what to expect. Here was this little bar on a graffiti covered cobbled lane near the cathedral serving Spanish tapas and shared plates in a down lit room playing funky tunes. It's the kind of place you can come in for a beer and a jamon croquetta at the bar and then move across to a table and share a plate of slow braised lamb, some patatas a lo pobre and down some seriously good Spanish red wine.

We were very lucky not only to stumble across movidas but also time our visit after a cancellation and they were able to squeeze us in. Bookings are highly recommended which is not surprising given the excellent food, service and ambiance! The tapas were fantastic with each one more interesting, authentic and delicious. I tried many new foods I had... More

Wander into Movida after a recommendation from a local (we are visitors to Melbourne) and were lucky to score a seat. Our waitress Elle was amazing and a I think that is what lead to such a good experience. Elle helped us order and recommended the sangria which was refreshing. Tapas were tiny but with amazing flavours. I thought we... More

Lovely little place off Flinders Street near Federation Square makes a great location. The food was excellent with a wide variety of delicious tapas and share plates. Hard to stop ordering and eating more. Would definitely go back again.

Cheerful waiting staff and lots of great tapas.wide range of wines and beer. City central being only a short walk from Flinders Street Station but do be sure to book at busy periods as this is a very popular venue

the food was great, easily a good night had with a large group of people. Staff were helpful, if a little overly busy. Good sign for them though

There is actually two of these bars in Melbourne we tried to go to the old one on Hosier Lane across from Flinders Station but they couldn't take our group of 7, so we walked to another one on Little Bourke. This was a great funky kind of place..The staff were really helpful and offered good some very useful tapa... More

Very good restaurant down an arty alleyway. Excellent tapas and main dishes, for the quality was reasonably priced. Good service - took time to explain and left you to enjoy your food while providing attentive service when needed. Would go again to try some more dishes.

We had a light little lunch here of three small tapa: bocadillo (brioche and pate sandwich), queso (quince paste cigar with goats cheese) and lamb skewer along with wine. Each dish was delicious and good value. A pity we couldn't try a bigger range of dishes, but still a great experience.

Lived up to the hype - incredibly tasty tapas and a good vibe. Would go back in a heartbeat. Compared to some of the other eating around Melbourne was also good value for money
