Went here recently after quite an absence. I was delighted that nothing had changed! $22 for a very large banquet... The chickpea bake was still as delicious as I remembered and my friends (who had never been) loved it all! We are all meat eaters but were completely satisfied and full from the vegetarian fare. Tip, need to be there... More

This is a Melbourne classic. Great place (although I can see it may take some getting used to). You must arrive early to get a table, usually have to leave your name and they'll give you a time to come back. (Heaps of lovely bars around to have a drink while you wait.) The banquet (which I think has just... More

Loved the food and the atmosphere. Get there early for a table. Take your own containers for the leftover food - you won't be able to eat it all.

Home style cooking and feel. Food nice, standouts were the chicken dishes and excellent cous cous.. feel the flavours could have done with more punch, a bit timid. Prices very reasonable. Nice setting, upmarket cafe feel. If I lived locally would be a great meeting place for a quick dinner and chat before heading out.

Amazing.! What more can I say. This place is one of the best finds in Melbourne. The food is incredible. Who would have known that vegetarian food could be so tasty and so flavour some in so many ways. Can't beat this little gem for price, service, quality and quantity. Well worth the wait time to get a table. Come... More

Don't get me wrong not a bad meal but not the hype it deserves. Expensive for what you get. Doesn't take booking so be prepared to wait...usually outside in the cold.

No one likes being told to wait - especially when you are practically dying of starvation after a long commute from interstate. But wait, you must if you want to indulge in the fantastic Moroccan food here! Visiting with first timers, I had to convince them it would all be worth it when the spoken menu gets delivered to your... More

What an amazing place this is! The food is amongst the best vegetarian I've ever had and I'm not veg. We had the $25 banquet which included starters, mains, dessert and tea or coffee!! I don't know how they do it! A feast fit for a king! It opens at six and they don't take bookings so get there at... More

For a masterclass in veggie cuisine, head to Moroccan Soup Bar. The portions are generous but even several courses in you won’t want to stop it’s so delicious. No problem – make like the locals and take a Tupperware tub to enjoy the rest at home. For more tips on where to go in Melbourne here: http://lostthemap.wordpress.com/2013/12/08/mellow-melbourne/.

It's amazing that you can find so tasty Moroccan food fo far from Morocco. Busy small restaurant in Fitzroy. Better to go at 6pm to get a table. If you are hungry take the $25 menu, the entrees are the best, good variety of different tastes. Everything is for share and mains are pretty big. Yummi desserts and excellent coffee.... More
