I try to eat here every time I visit Melbourne. The food is excellent (French bistro style, high quality but not schmancy), there are plenty of French and local wines by the glass, and the hostess treats us like family. The setting is comfortably low-key: it's a place to enjoy a relaxed dinner with friends, not to "be seen". We... More

Lovely restaurant, owner very friendly and the food excellent. French onion soup was very good was a little too sweet for my husband but I thought it was very good. For mains my husband had the eye fillet with the mustard glaze and I had the porterhouse. Both were cooked perfectly and had good flavour, they are accompanied by a... More

After an amazing evening of great food and service I feel bad that I haven't visited this restaurant before now. We took a special 1996 bottle with us to enjoy and it was carefully filtered and decanted for us. We enjoyed amazing scallops, goats cheese and duck liver pate for entrée. Between us we had duck, lamb and quail. All... More

We found this restaurant a few years ago when we were diving through Carlton on our way to the airport. Parking is easy, which is an issue in the inner 'burbs! We returned with our adult daughters to enjoy a steak, as we were in Melbourne for a reunion. We were not disappointed, the meal was delicious and steaks tender... More

Jenny at Moretons is always affable & warmly welcomes customers with a friendly smile & greeting. She has culinary experience in London & Paris. The food is of the highest quality & well presented. This restaurant is one of the few remaining in Melbourne which allows BYO. If you're looking for a quality French Brasserie with a relaxed atmosphere, ambience... More

Such a beautiful little Brasserie on Melbournes well known Rathdowne Street in Carlton. Great Steaks, fantastic family friendly service, it's like a little taste of Paris, but, with a truly lovely hostess. You get such a warm feeling when you eat here, it's like a good therapy session, you leave feeling that you are, important! Don't be surprised if you... More

Good French fare most of the time - but have been a little dissapointed with the steak on occasion - that said when it's good it's probably one of best steaks in area. Be prepared to have your ear talked I'd by the lady owner too

Melbourne restaurants are always the highlight of my business trips. This time a colleague booked Moreton's Brasserie for our pre-meeting dinner. I am a foodie and I like to cook...and I lived and worked in France. This restaurant was spectacular. We were treated like royalty. It is BYO and the menu is varied and interesting. Most in our group tried... More

We hvae been back twice to this lovely family-owned French restaurant and had a wonderful time on both occasions. It is nice to see the family members cooking together in the kitchen and the wonderful hostess who treats you like her own family. The chevre salad was delicious, steaks perfect, and apricot bread-and-butter pudding amazing. Others at the table enjoyed... More
