Very pleasantly surprised

The food exceeded my expectations. The curries were so tasty. We tried 5 different types of bread and they were all so yum and freshly made. Will definitely return.

If you want to eat authentic indian food please do not order anything apart from tandoori starters. Main meal will be a disaster with over expensive bill.

We had the lamb Rogan josht and vegetable jalfreze. Deep flavoured, complex but balanced spices and beautiful lamb and vegetables. Just the right amount of chilli. Naans were perfect. Service was impeccable. They have obviously read other reviews and fixed it up. They should remove the lcd TV, it ruins the ambiance. Just a tad on the pricey side, but... More

The food here is quite good and there are some imaginative items on the "Chef's Specials" listing. However, the service is terrible. We ordered a bottle of wine and were given just that - the bottle plonked on the table! It wasn't even opened, let alone a tasting offered or glasses filled and refilled. And does a restaurant really need... More

The only bad thing about The Lion Of India is that it ruins any other Indian food you try to consume. We've been eating from here for the last 1.5 years, and it's become our favourite place to get or get take away. We eat there at least once a month, the Butter Chicken, the Saag Chicken and Saag Lamb... More

We ordered two dishes (takeaway) and could only eat one bite of each curry. The owners should be ashamed to serve food so bad and is in no way a reflection of good Indian food. If you are after good/half decent food dont go here and let this place ruin your evening..

Excellent food, always great. I have found the service when you dine in to be terrible so I'll only do take away now.

People always remember and share bad experiences but fail to acknowledge good places. I do not write damning reviews unless the place was very bad. I went to Lion of India with my wife on a weeknight for dinner. I had heard good feedback from people who had been there. I pleased with the contemporary decor in the premises. We... More

The food here is amazing. The Chefs Special Lamb Cutlets are fantastic. Service is diabolical. They really have no idea what they are doing. Call ahead for take away to save yourself the angst and still get the great food.
