I have been going to Kenzan for many years. Sometimes it's really good. The sashimi and sushi is very fresh and beautifully presented. If you want rare beef then ask for it. It is on the expensive side. The atmosphere is good for business or romance.

Beautifully prepared, reliable with precise service. Good wine list at reasonable prices. Busy but quiet enough for good conversation. Excellent menu. Very good if on a short time frame.

A lovely dinner for two at the sushi bar. We enjoyed a great selection of sashimi and sushi, beautifully presented and of a high standard. The service was attentive and overall a great experience.

Had a magnificent dinner at Kenzan. Impeccably presented, mouth watering, faultless food. Started with tempura as an entree, all hot, crisp and served with a delicious dipping sauce. Main was a sushi platter. Many different fish pieces on sushi rice. A real difficulty was deciding which piece to eat next. The scallop and seared salmon were definitely the favourite pieces.... Very fresh and delicious sashimi. However, it took a long time for the chef to prepare and serve our food. On the average, be prepared to pay around A$60 per person for just a normal meal. Oh yes, the green tea creme brulee was something I had not tried before and it was delicious.

We were walking around Melbourne trying to decide which restaurant to have dinner in - just too many choices! Anyway, we decided to stop at the next one we came to. It turned out to be a great choice. The service was immaculate and the surroundings very comfortable. We both had teriyaki, Linda's was chicken and mine was salmon. The... More

Decided to try a romantic dinner with my partner. We were sat in the middle of a near empty restaurant and asked for drinks. We ordered a bottle of Leeuwin Estate Riesling which was fabulous, but that's where the good experience ended. We ordered miso soup, sesame horenso, traditional pickles, vegetarian maki, sushi and unagi. The soup was adequate but... More

This is not grab and go sushi. It is well made, presented and above all fresh. There isn't a large variety of choices or anything innovative. What they do, they do very well. Beer isn't listed on the menu. Beware it is about double what it should cost even in a restaurant at this price point. $12 for a can... More
