Special cake but pricy

I looked and the window and drooled. The cake look amazing. It took me a while to pick a cake which was $10 was yummy. There are long queues to go in but I took my cake away so I did not have to queue.

A lunch time stroll through the Block Arcade brought us to this interesting "cosy" Tea Room - it was the display of cakes and pastries in the window that caught our attention. There was a queue so we thought it was a good sign. We joined the line and after about 25 minutes were shown to our table. The waitress... More

We had seen the cakes in the window and thought we had to give this place a try as they looked amazing. We waited about 15 minutes to be seated which wasn't a problem and were seated by the hostess who was very friendly. Our waitress showed no interest in providing good customer service and was rude. The latte was... More

Went there for a few times and there's always a long queue out there. Decided to try our luck again around Sunday evening and we managed to get a table real quick. I wouldn't say they make the best cake and coffee in Melbourne but they are close to there! Waitress was friendly and even offered us water when requested.... More

This quaint little tea room has been here forever and holds a special place in the hearts of many Melbournians over 50. It has old world charm and is a lovely place to take your Mum, Your Nanna or even your best friend. Cakes taste as good as they look and the queues after 11am prove just how popular this... More

This place has fantastic cake and coffee. Try to avoid the large line and go during non peak times. If you have to wait it's still worth it. It's so popular for a reason!

Didn't mind having to queue to be seated, service friendly and efficient. Good choice of teas and alternative drinks for non tea drinkers. The window display stops you in your tracks and looks even better on a plate in front of you. Go on, spoil yourself

I love the razzmatazz of tea served well, with fine china cups, a functional teapot, strainer, milk jug, honey....Oh the elegance of fine dining in the best tea restaurant in Melbourne. The waitering staff play the part, they look superbly groomed, and they work to make your tea experience perfect!! All professionals. The menu is superior, as of course it... More

I've always wanted to go here and finally we were able to go. The cake display in the window doesnt do the quality of the food justice. The service is impeccable and I watched the staff go to great effort to accommodate guests. If youre in Melbourne - make this a priority - you wont be sorry.

One of my favourite places in Melbourne is the Hopetoun Tearooms. I always try to get there early and enjoy a beautiful quite breakfast. My favourite is the range of mueslis but the entire menu is extensive. A must go to. The window of cakes is a postcard in itself.
