This is the second time i have been to this place and on both occasions the food was great. I would recommend the set menu this way you get to try a couple of different meals. The Gurkhas special is always different and something i would most likely not order given the choice.. But all good. Service is quick and... More

Had traditional Nepalese cuisine - food was tasty - went for a set meal which had a couple of curries, a lentil dish (Dal) a flaky roti and some rice. The roti was quite good. The dal was not up to the mark. Had a strawberry yoghurt drink as well which was ok, but not great - too much strawberry... More

We continue to be impressed by the delicious food and the great service at Gurkhas (we mainly visit this one in Chapel Street, Prahran. They have ~6 other outlets around Melbourne too). The menu is extensive with a page of appetisers, a page of vegetarian options, a page of meat options, a page of seafood options and a few other... More

Was going to a club nearby so thought we would try it out. We booked the window seats for 6 which was nice as you are seated on cushions on the floor. Food was tasty but it was our fault that we didn't ask for it to be Hotter. The wait staff were nice enough but looked a little lost... More

Loved everything about this place. I found it hard to choose so We asked the waiter to suggest traditional dishes. I had the goat curry while my partner had a chicken dish. My son had the whole fish. The meal was amazing!

We called in here without a booking after walking up and down Chapel Street trying to decide what to eat. Neither of us had eaten Nepalese food before and the décor, fullness of the place and advertised special enticed us in. We selected the all you can eat taster with Indian beer, followed by house wine. Meal started with poppadums... More

We had a dinner for 2 at Gurkhas Cafe on Bridge rd Richmond, Victoria and highly advise to stay away from this restaurant. Not only was the food very bland and the meat was very chewy (we ordered the goat, lamb & beef dishes), but the service was terrible. About 20 minutes into our meal the waiter asked us to... More

Four of us ate at Gurkhas on Saturday night and to be honest some of the food was good and some was very bland. The 4 starters, potato fritters, mushrooms & chicken were very tasty but all were tepid in temperature when served. As a main I ordered the egg plant curry and my wife the Ochra curry, Both although... More

Called in with a group and chose the $20 all you can eat taster. Service a little slow and food didn't have a lot of flavor. Well at least we got to try something different and sample some Goat.

Staff were really nice and efficient. Decor was pleasant. Menu looked good. Food was bland and a disappointment. Sadly I think a microwave is used in the kitchen as my roti was leathery in texture and some food was incredibly hot, not spicy but temperature hot. The little dumplings, momo, were like a poor quality dim sim. too doughy and... More
