Good but very pricey

This is a restaurant owned by a celebrity chef (Guy Grossi) so part of the price is the celebrity factor. Everything was excellent ... except the bill. Better value elsewhere in Melbourne without a drop in quality.

A tough call I know, we really enjoyed a family dinner at Florentino. We opted for the degustation menu, well set out and not too large in servicing size. We sat right in the middle of the restaurant space, lots of staff ensuring drinks we topped up, tables were cleared etc. Service was swift but not rushed. All dishes were... More

One of the most beautiful meals I have ever eaten. I had Veal Scallopini - the veal was so tender and the sauce was out of this world - I could have licked the plate! Simply served with mashed potato and beans. Service was great and the bourbon was a proper nip with not too much coke. Definitely worth a... More

We came here for a night out and decided to dine upstairs. We had the tasting menu $150pp . We were so disappointed. The 'crystal bay prawns' was some cut up raw prawn meat (no more than one prawn) swimming in a small bowl of very average minestrone. The first pasta serving was ok but was three very small tortellini.... More

This is fine dining at its best, the tables, the atmosphere. The staff hovering to ensure you glass is full and you have everything you need. The menu is a little confusing, something between set menu and degustation, a little pricey but you could not fault the experience. This is not a hit and miss place, they get it right.

From the street, I stepped down into the dining room. The tables were close together and the waiters were busily tending to patrons. I was seated soon after at a table for two along the wall opposite the open kitchen - presumably, the grill. I ordered an Aperol spritz for apertivo to start. Entree We decided to share two entrees,... More

I'm a bit of a picky eater however there are restaurants where you can try something a little different and Grossi is definitely one of those. There are plenty of options on the menu for all tastes and the pork skewer was delicious. The service is also fantastic - the staff are very attentive! This is a place that is... More

Booked this restaurant for a special birthday occasion on Grossi Florentino reputation at The Grill . The staff and atmosphere was lovely and that's were it stopped. I had the baked clams; dry and ordinary $32 and then the La Fiorentina steak $52 - sound impressive. NO, a T bone steak with a small red cabbage vinaigrette; no Jus, sauce... More

It was our 11th anniversary and we wanted to enjoy the romance. Alas -Not possible on a busy Saturday night. It was so noisy! Lots of staff around but hard to get their eye at first. Then Lucy appeared and everything was made right! We enjoyed the amuse bouche to start. Sadly the green risotto dish was just aweful but... More
