Our concierge recommended this place. It was a bit out of the way but we'll worth the trip! The beef bourguignon was spectacular. The serve was good and very efficient. We highly recommend the place. It was very busy, make reservations if possible.

Our favorite Melbourne restaurant, we come every time we visit. A traditional french style brasserie with great food and excellent wines. Great for people watch and listening to snatches of conversations. Amazingly busy and vibrant.

This place is just beautiful, same menu, same chef, same furniture?, same waiters! and all the same personality for 20+ years or something ridiculous like that. Beautiful traditional french food at reasonable prices. Nice sarcastic waiters and a beautiful relaxed atmosphere. Solid wine list too as you would expect, this is a place I go to every time I go... Dining with a few mates we were looking forward to a traditional steak et frites and old school france soir experience. After the waiter had been asked about six times the expensive badoit eventually made its way to the table. Shortly after this the waiter tipped a glass of wine over me. He apologised it but glossed over it pretty... More

Had a great night here. Each meal was delivered quickly and just as ordered, great flavours. There's an extremely extensive wine list. The service was a little rushed, and we weren't offered a second drink after the first was through, however they were very busy so that might have been why.

Our group of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. The food is very traditional French fare and cooked well. You will find all the typical favourites on the menu here. I have to say the Foi Gras was superb. The duck breast was nice, and the Rabbit was also tasty. The wine list is extensive and a tad overwhelming so... More

Went to France Soir again on this trip to Melbourne. Great French cuisine and efficient and attentive service. The restaurant was packed as usual on a Monday night. Reminded me of a busy Saturday night in Paris ! If you are lucky enough to get a reservation to this Melbourne eating icon you won't be disappointed.

Don't come here if you want quiet. Or for a romantic evening where you whisper to each other secretly. But if you accept that this is a crowded, busy, boisterous bistro with staff moving through at a million miles an hour and a constant re-filling of tables as guests come and go, then France Soir is for you. The menu... More
