Nothing to rave on about...... basic yum cha

It was an Easter Saturday, this year we went into the city to gasp the breath of city eateries. We love China Town and we seems to end up there to eat and enjoy exotic taste buds. We started out day touring around the city with free trains and buses and ended up in Dragon Boat Restaurant in Bourke... read more

Wanted a quick dinner and given we were staying close to China Town, seemed that Chinese would be a great choice. Dragon Boat looks clean from the outside, you don't get hassled to go in and it was well patronised so decided to give the restaurant a go. For entree we had chicken San Choy Bau - absolutely delicious, succulent... More

The grand facade is what attracted us into this restaurant. The decor is very authentic, clean and pleasant. The chairs are comfortable. Tables are a bit on the smallish side. I liked the fact that you get a cloth napkin rather than paper. The service is quick and excellent. Good selection on the menu. Food is very good and the... More

This is a busy restaurant in the heart of Chinatown, so you may need to wait for a table, but not too long. Amazing menu - at reasonable prices. The portions are fairly large so be warned. The waitress even makes up your Peking duck rolls at the table - all done to your taste! Beverages are reasonably priced too.

Average yum char for a Saturday lunch, mostly dumplings coming around, food was generally flavorsome but there was a lack of variety and the were not passing as frequently as I would have liked - the only deep fry we seen was some calamari and they missed us. Filled the spot but would not rush back.

This is a must visit, we come here everytime we come to Melbourne. We tried it the first time we came and I don't want to try anywhere else because of the great food they deliver. There may be better places but we don't want to gamble on the quality of food elsewhere as we love this place. Variety and... More

We went to the restaurant for a lunch on a Saturday afternoon and we left disappointed. Atmosphere - none. Food - mediocre, Value for your money - over-priced. Wouldn't recommend it and we won't be back.

I have been going to this restaurant off and on for thirty years and whilst it's look has improved its quality has plummeted. It is not hard to provide a pleasant service but the unfortunately the most dazzling aspect to the service by the young man who must have been the floor supervisor as his uniform was black, was his... We walked in off the street as the menu offered food more to our liking than nearby establishments. We had a short wait and then were seated for dinner. The service was very good, food was excellent and the prices reasonable. We will go back again.
