This was literally a walk past drop in meal. The service was politw, and the food arrived promptly. The atmosphere is nothing special, nor is the restaurant really, but it was good, honest chinese food. If you have trouble with stairs, don't bother as the toilets are at the top of a large flight of stairs.

Was really disappointed by Dragon Boat Restaurant as had heard great things about Chinatown in general. No atmosphere, disinterested staff and the meals had no flavour at all. I ordered prawn stir fried noodles and it came out with two minute noodles and three prawns at a $30 price tag. Was really disappointed. Wouldn't recommend, there are so many amazing... More

Booked the set menu for a group of 20, but on arrival had to ask for a third table as we were sitting on each others laps. Service was poor, with meals coming so slowly that 6 in the group left before the 2nd main and the only vegetarian getting 2 courses, whilst everyone had 4. No rice served with... More

Great food and service, we liked it so much the first time, we went back again the 2nd day to try different dishes. Staff were fabulous too.

Had the tiger prawns with mushrooms and vegetables - awesome flavor and very tasty. Also had the fried whole flounder with salt and pepper. Great too! The other great thing about this restaurant is that it is in the heart of the Melbourne downtown and open late.

Walked in off the street for lunch. Full of multiple ethnicities which is generally a sign of good food. Service once seated was OK.....I imagine it could be slow if the restaurant was fully booked. We ate a lot and the serving sizes were good. Great value. Chatted to other travellers seated nearby.

Whilst in Melbourne, we dropped in to the Dragon Boat without booking for Yum Cha. Very glad we did - the food was great, service attentive and friendly without being overbearing - in short, a memorable and happy experience! Highly recommend the "Yum Cha Experience" at the Dragon Boat!!

The Dragon Boat was disappointing. As a group of 6 we walked in off the street early enough to be seated. By the time we left the restaurant was full. All good signs of a popular restaurant. The food was very good, the seafood dishes cooked to perfection and the beef melted in your mouth. Sadly the service was lacking.... More

We were walk-ins off the street and I wish we had kept walking! While the service was attentive.....way too attentive for my liking....waiters hovering over the table waiting for that last morsel to be taken off the plate to whisk away, we did have to ask three times for a side of chilli one of my dining companions had ordered.... Probably one of the best Chinese restaurants in the district. Great service and beautiful tucker. They have a comprehensive menu and drinks list. The restaurant is well set up and nicely decorated. The only setback is that the toilet facilities are upstairs - nice and clean but. A must visit when in Chinatown. We recommend the sauteed Scollops. We'll be... More
