Great food, excellent vibe

Funky place for lunch. Relatively quiet on this weekday we could have proper conversation. The food was good. We had the beef salad, pad thai, Penang curry, which were all excellent. Better-than-thou staff, but they were not rude. Better to have staff who take pride in their work. Would definitely... read more

I have dined here on a few occasions, and have always been impressed with the quality of food. A big variety, and a very large wine and beverage list (too much to choose from). The place looks amazing, and the atmosphere is always good. The staff are very knowledgable and helpful. If you are after a night out, and quality... More

I love Cookie. The atmosphere and the food are perfect. I had my lunch on the little balcony looking Swanston St! The food is amazing, asian-fusion with really fresh ingredients. Cocktail are really good, the negroni is the best! I suggest this place to all of my friends!

On our recent visit to Melbourne and being massive lovers of Thai food (and a Marolbourough Sauv) We instantly fell in love with this quirky bar/restaurant. Brilliant on a sunny day to sit out on the balcony and enjoy one of their amazing salads (which are filling but all very tasty). Great drinks selection as well and good service. Would... More

Very tasty dishes full of spice in a lean fusion style. Portions are great to share. Atmosphere was good with a cool trendy touch but more lively in the restaurant part vs the bar. For drinks the rooftop bar is the place to go here, at least pre-dinner.

I generally look forward to visiting this restaurant for it's flavoursome Thai inspired food and amazing selection of craft beers. We were a family group of 7 and we visited on Friday evening. I was curious about one of the Saison beers and the waitress said it was good and left it at that. My son ordered one as well... More

There were 4 of us. The food was amazing. We just asked the waiter to order for us and everything that came out was delicious. Cookie has many areas and so after dinner we sat around the back of the bar in another room for an after dinner drink.

Best Asian I've had in a long time. Everything was like a taste explosion, no kidding! Drinks were colorful and nice. Awsome place, very arty. Recommend going up to the rooftop bar after dinner, good views!

Looked boring/weird from the outside, but inside it was a cool Asian restaurant with hipster waitors and a great ambience. The food was delicious - try the baked scallops and the tapioca dumplings - and the cocktails was refreshing and innovative. Best of all - it didn't ruin us financially!

On the balcony on a beautiful summers night in Melbourne with great food and fantastic wines... It does not come much better! I can highly recommend Cookie, if if it is just for a cocktail.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
