Couldn't recommend it more highly!!

There was absolutely nothing that I could fault during our recent dinner here. Staff were extremely professional and friendly (their strong Italian accents add to the 'vibe'). The slow cooked lamb ragu with handmade tagliatelle was the best I have ever tasted, including restaurants in Italy!! I... read more

There was absolutely nothing that I could fault during our recent dinner here. Staff were extremely professional and friendly (their strong Italian accents add to the 'vibe'). We booked online for a 9:15pm sitting to enable us to go to the movies. We arrived wondering whether the booking had been accepted and were delighted to find that we were expected and not withstanding the few remaining patrons we were not rushed through our meal. We opted fora shared entree and main courses and ordered a carafe of... More

I am a Melbourne foodie and indeed know good food from bad. I was embarrassed tonight for my international guest who was looking forward to fine, Italian food at Caffe e Cucina. The restaurant's past days of glory are gone. The bread rolls were stale; the expensive ($38) 'home made' pasta with crab, was cold, too tough to eat (the... More

We visited the restaurant on Feb 1 upon our arrival to Melbourne. My brother chose this place as it was close to where we stayed. The atmosphere was great and cozy for family gathering. The food came out great and everyone in the family enjoyed the food. The staff were friendly but it was really surprising that Monday night is... More

I recently attended a group function at this restaurant. We were given a good greeting and quickly seated at our tables. Unfortunately the level of service decreased after this. It was difficult to get the attention of the waiting staff in order to order a drink. I ordered the scallopini but it was a little too salty for my taste.... More

I eat at this restaurant every time I come to Melbourne and it fails to disappoint. The young Italian waiters and staff really know how to serve the food and wine- very experienced. The food was delicious as always.A lovely atmosphere-authentic Italian

This cafe came recommended by a friend, and it lived up to the rave reviews we had heard. A dimly lit, cosy, almost cave-like ambience greets you as you walk as do the lovely waiters, who surprisingly, are actually Italian! There is something quite satisfying about a restaurant where the waiters speak the language to each other. There are lovely... More

We dropped into Caffe e Cucina at the last minute in the hope of getting a table on a recent trip to Melbourne. The staff could not have been more helpful and we secured a table outside. From the beginning, we were well looked after with the attentive, personalised service. We received helpful suggestions from our waiter ( as well... More

Staying in Chapel Street

Neighborhood Profile
Chapel Street
Seek and ye shall find! Prahran is a treasure hunter’s paradise of vintage stores, upscale boutiques and emporiums. Chapel Street is a one-stop shop with specialty stores selling just about everything. The famous Chapel Street Bazaar has so many curious and vintage knick-knacks that you will feel as if you're in a huge and busy museum. By contrast, at the northern end of Chapel Street, South Yarra and Windsor cater to high-end designer labels and exclusive boutiques. The community flocks to Prahran’s organic markets as a Saturday ritual, while art and film students leaf through vinyl LPs on Greville Street. The gay community also has a strong presence here. Prahran’s heritage buildings like the Reads Emporium and Prahan arcade offer a grand sense of scale and history. No matter your interest, come feel the pulse of one of Melbourne’s most loved precincts.
