Nice but not worth raving about

Ate here on a Friday night with a few friends. I ordered the platter of chipotle honey chicken wings and three tacos. The wings were a bit of a let down, I was expecting well marinated chicken wings with a thick chipotle honey sauce, but was basically given a plate of grilled chicken wings, with... read more

Went for dinner with friends, never been before as we were just visiting Melbourne. We were seated straight away, took a while for our order to be taken, one of the dishes was cold so had to be sent back. No check back on our meal, the food was fine, nothing to recommend, as we were almost finished something caught... More

We have eaten here before and came back because of the nice food.We came came late but got served anyway. After putting in our orders 20 min later I got told they ran out of ocean trout, I asked if I could have it with chicken instead and it was arranged. Once the food got served my chicken came as... Blue Corn is not worth a visit. We both ordered the taco platters (on special that evening $20 for 3 tacos), which was still pricy considering the small size of the tacos and fillings. It was surprising that there were lots of ingredients listed as toppings including guacamole and slaw but they were completely bland and flavourless. There seemed to... More

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE unless you want cheap quality and small quantity meals at exuberant prices all served on chipped and cracked plates! I kid you not! We complained in writing to the management, but management did not care. Take this into consideration if you think they will care what they serve you! Do yourself a favour and find... More

Tequila was good for the price, the barman was friendly and helpful. The cocktails were good. We didn't have any food but it smelled and looked amazing. Wasn't too packed. Great location. Amazing things hanging on the walls.

When eating here tonight I ordered a fajita which they said was gluten free. It came out and as always I checked if it was actually gluten free. I asked the owner if it was gluten free and she went to check - it was NOT . She said the chefs already were onto it and were not going to... More

We got the Nachos as an entree to suss this place out. It was terrible and expensive for what you get. The cheese was tasteless and chewy. The corn chips were so below average and there was so little on the plate. I'm happy to pay for good food, but this was well below mediocre. The staff were friendly though.... More

Seriously, one of the worst "Mexican" meals I've had. Incredibly overpriced tacos at $8.50 each for poorly cooked pork, with a bit of pineapple, and 4 tiny strips of calamari with pedestrian salsa. Had their "chipotle & honey" glazed chicken wings, which were $19.50 and got 4 wings with absolutely no "glaze" just overcooked rubbish, garnished with an unseasoned kfc... More

Back in Bluecorn after my last wonderful experience there. I'm determined to review it this time. No margarita this visit (but trust me, their mixologist is excellent and their range of tequila extensive) I went for one one if their more flavourful beers while sitting in the quiter kitchen side (the tequila bar next door has altogether more atmosphere but... Staying in St. Kilda

Neighborhood Profile
St. Kilda
St. Kilda is an iconic beachside suburb and one of the most culturally and economically diverse of Melbourne’s neighborhoods. It is a traditional haven for musicians, artists and writers, drawn to the European ambience and fresh ocean breezes. At night, it can have an edgier side, but by day, it features a relaxed vibe – the market stalls, boutiques and outdoor bars display St. Kilda’s easygoing attitude. Ocean winds blow from Port Phillip Bay and waves lap onto its long and mostly deserted beaches. Rides whir at the world’s oldest operational Luna Park. On a lazy weekend morning, bikers cruise along Acland Street, showing off their motorcycles. But the late morning crowds are too busy at brunch to notice. St. Kilda is a perfect place to relax after a night out with friends.
