Great service. Good ambience. Terrific table by the window. Silver Whiting ceviche excellent. Crumbled veal moist (quite a large portion). Bread for bruschetta too thick...easily share. Lemon semifreddo so-so. Overall quite happy

I have been to Becco several times and have never being disappointed. The food is always fresh and cooked perfectly. The menu while not big offers plenty of choices to suit all tastes. The staff were very friendly and helpful. What I really like is the ambience of Becco, The decor is simple, but comfortable and the tables aren't too... More

I loved this place on my first visit that I had to try it again. This place is great, the food is delicious and well presented. The wait staff are so friendly, welcoming and professional, their knowledge of the food was fantastic. I recommend this restaurant for that special occasion.

Becco is a store front in an alley-like street a block away from a main street, so it is a little bit hard to find. It is, however, well worth the search. It is a restaurant for the ages in a couple of ways. First, it's been there a long time, nineteen years; and its predecessor in the same location... More

Becco is a great option for great informal Italian dining. It's regulars tend to go back often. It's in Crossly Street which is pretty 'industrial' (ie fairly ordinary) but it's otherwise well located near the theatre district. It's therefore ideal for anyone who wants to see what good Melbourne Italian is like without paying too much for a classy location.... More

Nice place for a light diner with a couple of wine glasses. Perfect and super friendly service. Just pity the fingerfood list is so limited... I would advise the Olive Ascolane, the Fries Calami, the astonishing warm mixed olives, and the meat balls.

In contrast to some other reviewers, we were disappointed with Becco. Several dishes didn't quite measure up - especially at the prices charged. The pasta special, a ' paccheria', was tough and overcooked. The fettucine was very plain and relatively under-flavoured. And while the pumpkin ravioli was very good, the accompanying coleslaw was rather strange and superfluous. On the positive... More

Becco is what I would term classic Italian. Classic Italian meals based around quality food cooked really well. A case in point is the calamari entree which I tend to pick 75% of the time, simple yet absolutely superb with the quality of the ingredients shining through. The wine list is very, very good with some good priced selections to... More

At first glance at the menu, there doesn't seem to be anything terribly new about the dishes at Becco - simply traditional Italian cuisine that many restaurant attempt. However where this restaurant shines is the quality of the ingredients and the execution. Everything is simply delicious! In some establishments, a beef carpaccio is simply raw beef strips on a plate.... More

As per my 'Near dinner experience' review, BECCO turned out to be an excellent alternative to our booking at Gingerboy to failed to deliver. Excellent food, great wine, great service - I cannot recommend this place enough - we had a fantastic time sitting around a nice large round table in effectively a private dining room - which would be...
