A great providore in the cbd

Lots of reviews focus on the gelato which is good but a little to expensive, a$5 for one scoop. And others on the cheese but what I enjoy was the ready to eat food. Absolutely delicious things like chicken cacatorie and rice, I'd Thai curry, which I could take back to my hotel for an easy warm up... read more

I take the time to drive 45km here twice a week for this gelati. In flavour and texture i've simply never had anything like it anywhere else around the world. Especially in italy. The Valrhona dark chocolate is the flavour to beat. It is truely something out of this world!

Every time I come to Melbourne I always head up to The Spring St Grocer. I love their produce and I'm a complete sucker for there wonderful cheese room downstairs.

I wanted to try the "best gelato in Melbourne" and researched on a few sites to come up with the best. I suppose it's hard for me to say this is the best because I didn't try anywhere else. I simply couldn't go past the Spring Street Grocer for gelato. It is delicious.

My partner and I stumbled across the Spring Street Grocer Cafe in Spring Street, Melbourne CBD. I kid you not, if you are wandering around Melbourne CBD after dinner, or just at any time, a visit to this cafe (with attached grocer and fromagerie) is really essential. You can choose from either ice cream or sorbet, which are made from... More

Do take the trip down the spiral staircase, and into the cheesery. Sample and chat to the knowledgeable staff.

If you like gourmet sandwiches this is the places to go - great selection, quick service (and they come with crisps - and great sauces on the counter top to add). Then of course you can't walk past the gellati and sorbets. My chocolate bias may be showing (again) but the chocolate is soooooo smooth and yummy, and the lemon... More

The hot weather is starting come, so better find the best gelati spots! Being dairy intolerant in summer, is not all that fun, when there is so many cold creamy goodness to devour. What can I say, but amazing flavours! While the selection isn't many, 4 non-dairy ones in total. However, it did not matter, as I got 3/4 and... More

Spring Street Grocer is an adorable little shop and cafe across from the parliament building. We read about it in the Qantas magazine and decided to stop by as it was near our hotel. The gelati looks amazing as you first walk in, but go a little further in and down the stairs, and you'll find cheese cellar heaven. Yes,... More
