I went in to King's on Thursday evening, 21 January for dinner on my own. There were twelve patrons already seated (one table of four, four tables of two), so I was "unlucky 13". After being seated and given a menu, I sat and waited for ten minutes, but no one came to my table to offer even a glass... More

Ate here last week after searching trip advisor for a city restaurant that wasn't offering Italian cuisine! My husband and I each had entre, main and dessert, plus coffee and we shared a bottle of wine. All up the bill was just shy of $160. The calamari entre was tasty, prawns with chimichurra sauce, baked potato and salad was delicious... More

I was looking for a place that serves hearty seafood favorites of oysters & scallops as well as steak cooked to perfection that all but melts in your mouth, and I dare say, I have found it. Thanks Parry, we loved our experience and adored the food. A great way to celebrate an anniversary. Will certainly be back and am... More

My family and I have dined frequently at Kings Steakhouse for about 18 months, the last being on New Year's eve. We stumbled upon this jewel last winter and have since been back quite a few times. The food is par excellence and service is professional, warm and friendly. Special mention to Shelley and Perry who interact with each customer personally... More

I went with my family in October to have a very good meal nearby...When we arrive the staff was really friendly but a bit busy. We ordered our plates and around 40 minutes later we were eating...took a bit time..but it was delicious!!!I truly recommend the steak with fries. I will definitely come back there again with my friends!

Thanks to Parry the chef and the staff for making our party so enjoyable. It came highly recommended by my colleagues and did not disappoint . The steaks were prime cuts , well cooked (rare medium), the starters were well presented and the service was attentive but not intrusive . There were 30 of us and we had the whole... More

We stayed on Spencer Street and this restaurant came up as nearby. It was a great choice and between us we had steak, pasta and a chicken dish. All were very nice and my steak was cooked to perfection. A glass of Merlot with the steak, followed by Cremé Buleé - a good night

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
