Consistently good French bistro. We always dine there when in Melbourne. Food, service and wine list are all of a high standard.

We had a table of six for an earliesh dinner. The food was excellent all round. It matched by an eclectic wine list with something for every diner. The hardworking staff were attentive and pleasant. The only quibbles were with the noise and the space. However, these were only minor - we will definitely return!

We travelled to Melbourne to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary and chose Bistrot d'Orsay for THE night for a special touch of French ambience. The décor is definitely reminiscent of Paris and was aided by the presence of a French family seated beside us as well as a delightful waitress from Avignon serving us! The service and attention to detail... More

The food was simply the best I have ever tasted, amazing combinations especially the dessert was to die for! Service was brilliant, lovely atmosphere and unique setting. I cannot recommend our experience highly enough. We were lucky to get a table before a show, recommend booking a table.

I'd been to this little place just up from the Athenaeum several times over the years for a post theatre coffee and cake outside but only last night had dinner inside with a friend who lives in town and recommended it. The hostess is the lovely Pauline whose Parisienne accent was to die for as she explained the significance of... More

Exceptional French food in a traditional style French restaurant. Indoor and outdoor seating in a very intimate and cosy environment. The service was impeccable probably the best experienced in a long time. Waiters attentive but not intrusive, able to recommend dishes, wines and drinks, not afraid to make suggestions. Glasses constantly topped up ... mindful of our theatre time without... More
