By all means pop in if you can but don't bother queuing if there is a wait. You'll get much better flavour anywhere in Chinatown without the club music and deconstructed presentation.

Chin Chin has wonderful fresh tastes with a great drinks list to accompany the menu. Tables a little cramped up against one another which makes for the odd joining in on another's conversation. Lunch is a great choice for this tasty venue.

Had no problem waiting to get in and then heading downstairs to wait for the table. The bar staff downstairs were quick to deliver drinks and we only had to wait 25 mins for our table. That was were the problems started. We were seated next to the waiters station so every time (without fail) a waiter passed by they... More

Got there pretty early 5.45pm had to line up for 15min then wait 45min for a table. It was early so wasn't too bothered. Great seat in front window. Had salmon in red curry paste and coconut wrapped in banana leaf. Really Good. Beatle leaf lamb. Good and pad Thai - not so good. Considering it was a highly recommended... More

Finally got to take husband to Chin Chin! We didn't get there until almost 10.30pm and still had to put our name down for a table, it's crazy busy but we didn't care. Told it would be at least 45mins, time for a drink or two downstairs at Go Go but we got a call in 15mins. We had the... More

OK, Chin Chin is currently a synonym for hip-and-trendy in Melbourne restaurants but the truth is that this is a VERY GOOD place to each Thai/Asian fusion. The prices are reasonable and for a special treat, give yourself over to the BRING ME FOOD option which allows the staff to choose your items and continue to feed you until you... More

Pros: Efficient queue system, friendly service staff, great food. Cons: Too packed and noisy. If you want to dine at Chin Chin, please be there before 7pm when the crowd starts to come in. Fortunately, Chin Chin has an electronic queue system whereby you can leave your mobile number and a text message will be sent to you when a... More

Arrive early or late, or be prepared to wait and have a drink as this place gets busy most nights. They will make no apologies for you having to wait! One trick is to book a table for 8 in the Go Go bar downstairs. I'm not sure they accept less than 8 but it seems like a cooler place... More

The food here is fanantastic. They certainly have everyone squeezed in to the available space but it works well. Suggest you arrive well ahead of time for lunch as it fills very rapidly from 12pm on Loved the green papaya salad and the curries are just bursting with flavour. Friendly service but can take a little while to be served... More
