Had tried a coffee spritz from praharn (espresso and mineral water) which initially was good but after about halfway was over it. So decided the next day to try the espresso house blend up at the queen Vic markets. This was much more pleasant and straight to the point. Bottom line is its Good... read more

Small and totally focused on coffee. If your at the Queen Victoria Markets you won't find better coffee. In fact you may not find better in Melbourne.

For those who live market lane coffee, there is a new one located within the market in the deli section. Another spot for one of my favorite whites!

Been here on two occassions as of now (one in July and one today (02/12/2015)). The first time was during a very busy moment and they had their hands full but service was still very quick and pleasant. The second time I was the only customer and service seemed a bit slow (I expect they pick up more steam during... More

You have to be when you pare back the shop to bare concrete floors and benches, but it works. This feels a temple to coffee, which of course is very good. The small range of cakes is excellent and he staff are both efficient and unpretentious. Overall it makes for a great experience.

This place is cool. Cooler than me. The menu is not a coffee menu I've ever seen and I thought I was a bit of a coffee snob... Clearly I have much to learn. The guys work together to make a really good end product. I got a latte (which felt embarrassingly plain to ask for) and there was none... More

Strong flavorful coffee, pity there is no tables to sit outside and enjoy it with a view of the market. Nice and unusual decoration inside!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
