Was looking forward to loading up on ribs at the twc. Nice enough place but $26 for a plate with 4 ribs no sides included was fairly steep. By the time I added in drinks sides and dessert I was at $50 and still eyed off massive wieners on the way home. If you want american food hit up meatmother... More

We are visitors from the UK. We had three breakfasts here and they were consistently good. Scrambled eggs are really excellent as is the coffee. Fresh orange juice tastes like it should. Friendly and popular place.

We ventured down to Third Wave Cafe on Saturday for brunch - it was not a good experience from the beginning. The waiter/coffee maker (maybe owner) barely acknowledged us. We ordered blueberry juice which we were told was organic and natural, once we received it in the glass (not bottle) we thought that it did not appear to be organic.... More

It was a hot day in Melbourne, and I took my wife down to get a pregnancy massage nearby. It might sound like a wierd way to start a review of a restaurant, but that is how we arrived at Third Wave Cafe. Across the street...calling us... with soft promises of awesome meats and salad.... So we ate at Third... More

Until today, every time I've visited TWC its been great. Great greeting; great service; great coffee and lovely food. Today is was so bad I ended up walking out. No greeting. Very slow service. In fact after taking my seat and waiting a few minutes (I guessed they might have been busy, but they weren't) a waiter tried to serve... More

Ok, let's get one thing straight. No one does BBQ here in Australia like Third Wave - no one. This is hands down the closest you'll come to a gen-you-wine (insert good ol' boy accent here) "pit" joint this side of the Mason-Dixon Line. Out party of 5 had a range of dishes; pork ribs, beef ribs, lamb shoulder &... More

We came across Third Wave through an email I receive daily (weekend notes). It sounded great so we decided to check it out and were pleasantly suprised. We ordered the pork ribs - fanstastic! They were served with 2 sauces, we also ordered a side of coleslaw and kipfler potatoes, both were delicious. We had pecan pie to share for... More

I'm a Port Melbourne local and it looks like the secret is out! The coffee is amazing and the shashuka is my personal favourite as is the porridge. It's always busy yet I've always been seated. They even gave myself and friends a reserved table (probably because we're regulars and because the staff are awesome!). They now do dinner as... More

I was taken to breakfast to Third Wave Cafe by a Melbourne resident, who obviously knows where to go! First impressions - what a busy place!! Despite the bustle, service is friendly and efficient. Table space was at a premium when we arrived, on a weekend morning, but the staff don't seem to be hassled by this. I had the... More

Were I a local I would not be reviewing this place so you'd not know about it! However, as we're blow-ins from Hobart and not likely to be back for a while, what the heck! We discovered this place by accident and are glad we did. One of the best cafe breakfasts we've had in a long, long time. In... More
