I was treated to the $99 annual oysters extravaganza for my birthday. Although the fresh oyster were available for us to help ourselves, given the number of people helping themselves, there was not much to go around. The cooked oysters were also slow in coming out. The duck spring rolls were minute - only had 1 served to me as... More

When I last lived in Melbourne 8 years ago Rubiras in Fitzroy was my favourite Seafood Restaurant and Swallows a really pleasant spot for a wine or a delicious meal. So on this trip I was intrigued to find Rubiras was now at Swallows and rapt in the result. There is still the beautiful old Bar that adjoins the Dining... More

We went here for lunch on recommendation. Nice atmosphere. Helpful staff who knew the menu and made very good suggestions. We had the barramundi spring rolls (yum) and chilli prawns (yum) for entree and then shared a serve of Moreton Bay Bugs in garlic sauce for main. Yumyumyum! Generous size serves and it was all very tasty.

We visited Rubira's on Saturday night. It is a local favourite of ours which we have visited quite often however have not been for a while. We took my husband's cousin and her husband for dinner to Rubira's. Quite disappointing. The food has had a decline in standard and service is not what is had been in the past. My... More

My husband, 7 yo & I went there for dinner on 26-May to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We got there early & sat at the bar to have a pre-dinner drink. The barman was super friendly, chatting away. We were seating near the fire & the chalkboard menu. We started with the scampi, the Asian scallops & moreton bay bugs.... More

Instead of just a main course our host decided to have a smorgasbord of entrees for us a party of 5, lobster, Morton Bay Bugs, Oysters, Calamari, in one word fabulous! The ambiance is wonderful too, and proper white table cloths as it should. The menu is superb and too much to choose from. My compliments to the Chef!

The restaurant is lovely however it's Overpriced and well overrated for the quality of food! I've had better from my fish n chip shop ! No Menu s and menu board requires several visits throughout the night ! The fish was dry .. Prawns over peppered .. Scallops drowned in sauce .. No colour on the plate .. And a... More

The seafood in this boutique style pub is fresh daily with an excellent variety. Presentation and quality is above average for a pub. Ambiance and service is what you would expect for this setting. Prices are just ok. Worth a visit to try the seafood if local to the area.
