We found max bar and restaurant on the internet while trying to organise a work function for overseas and interstate people so we needed a menu to cater for everyone and max offered the best. Everyone was happy with the quality of the food and the variety. The highlight of the night for me was the lamb shanks while I... More

There is much competition for diners in Hardware Lane. In the excitement of getting you into their restaurant, some statements were made and not honoured. Some could feel tricked into sitting down. The food was good and the waiter who served us was very good. The atmosphere was also very good in the whole lane.

After being convinced by the doorman to eat at this restaurant, I was a little concerned as to what the meals were going to be like. I was pleasantly surprised. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food and the service was also great. The chocolate pudding and creme brûlée, were the perfect ending to a superb dinner.

Went here for dinner and ordered the half raost duck...... Big mistake! It was served with a steak knife so maybe that was a clue as to what was to come! I could hardly cut it even with the serrated knife! The skin was not crispy or rendered just fatty and the flesh was so tough I couldn't eat it.... More

Having two young kids, the kids menu made it really easy for us to enjoy our night and make sure the kids enjoyed there food. Great wine list and an extensive menu with something for everyone! And the free appetizer... garlic bread which wasn't even tasty. The mains were below standard. The waiter was nice but didnt make up... More
