I recently went to kelp hearing they had a new chef and the place had improved a lot in recent months. The service was ok and food was ok but I wouldn't suggest a visit. The new chef whilst very professional in the presentation of the food, yelled at one of the wait staff for forgetting something. Not a pleasant... More

As a local in Point Lonsdale I have been aware that Kelp had let its reputation slip over a few years but had recently heard that a new chef and menu had vastly improved matters. I went in today for a simple bowl of soup at lunch time. I waited half an hour, friends came in and ordered meals and... More

The steak was delicious small plates also good but to call 5 pieces of regular size tortellini in broth with very little else a large plate is unacceptable. Also to leave so hungry and go home and cook poached eggs on toast (which I might add was tastier than the tortellini ) is not the reason we go out for... More

We love the walk round the foreshore between Point Lonsdale and Queenscliff. Lunch at Kelp tops it off. The structure has changed a bit since we were last there, but the food, the wine and the service haven't, and the whole lunch was just as nice as it ever is. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back.

Inept service showed a lack of training. A combination of too many elements and flavours on the plate delivered a very unsavoury meal which in some instances was inedible. Costly and extremely disappointing!

I have dined at Kelp several times over the last few years but after tonight may never come back. There are a number reasons as to why including a rather disappointing dinner with stale bred, dirty wine glasses and lacklustre service with the waiter not knowing the dish placed on the table and this occurred more than once. Summer is... More

After checking out the other restaurants in the strip, my wife decided we should go to Kelp as she liked what she saw from the outside, we had their $25 for two courses and glass of wine offer. The meal and service was excellent, the waitress extremely professional and very attentive. The highlight was the dessert of Butterscotch and Pistachio... More

My husband and I dined at Kelp for lunch ,having their $25 for two courses and a glass of wine special. We were served by a lovely attentive waitress who guided us through the choices and explained everything to us. The food was beautiful, very well presented ,in a modern way. My highlight was the deconstructed lemon meringue pie,and my... More
