Still looks charming. Keep up the good standards!

My visit was late on a weekday, about 6pm. On the last occasion when I ate at Caffe e Torte at that time of day I was disappointed by the service (amateurish) and embarrassed that my guests were served some odd and scrappy food concoctions. This fresh visit was better: service efficient, coffee... read more

We enjoyed a weekend in the city and last opportunity for a bite to eat was breakfast on a Tuesday morning. Packed the bags at the hotel and took a short walk down to The Mall And found Caffe E Torta. Great spot and only wished we had found it for our other breakfasts. Good service and plenty of food.... I have been to Caffe e Torta several times now. I make it a must go to whenever I visit Melbourne. I havent had a bad experience yet. I take my friends there and they have all loved it. I especially go there for their yummy breakfasts. Love the decor, I love the little corner nook at the back if... More

Grumpy rude manager ( an old lady)! Bitter and cold flat white. I asked to make me another one and they put it in microwave!!! Complained to the manager and she just scared me off. Rude staff. Never go back.

Tried the Caffe e Torta for breakfast. Coffee was great (although could have been hotter). Poached eggs with avocado and smoked salmon was a delight. Good fresh juice. No bacon on the menu so don't expect any.

Stopped here many times over the years, great place to sit and watch the world pass by as the outside tables are actually lined up inside the walkway leading into the Royal Arcade from Little Collins Street. This area of Melbourne is known as the 'Lanes' and is a great place to explore. Snacks, cakes and coffee at this cafe... More

Had a breakfast here one morning and ordered poached egg on advocado. On the menu it was two poached eggs but I only wanted one. No problems and I only paid half price. Don't often get that service at home in Perth! Then returned for coffee and cake. One of the best coffees I tasted while in Melbourne. The banana... More

Lovely little cafe with a history and prescence about it. Situated at the end of one of the many arcades in Melbourne. Great for breakfast, coffee, lunch or teas. A little tight on the seating but cosy and well run.

We have visited this café a few times and we always enjoy the food, service and ambience. It is a great place to watch the world go by and enjoy a relaxed breakfast or lunch. My vegetarian wife really enjoyed the lentil and vegetable soup and I enjoyed the special house made pasta with beef ragu. More like osso bucco... More
