The staff are very attentive and friendly. This Monday morning they were fairly busy so there was a small wait for food, but it was reasonable - maybe 15 minutes.

We worked our way down hardware lane on a busy sunday, and after dealing with the hawkers and unfriendliness of some of the other venues, we stumbled across this gem. Small and busy, the friendly and animated manager took our number and called us once a table was available. The menu was interesting, mixing the usual bacon and eggs dishes... More

We recently had a girls weekend in Melbourne and had breakfast at this cafe 2 days out of the 4 we were there. Fabulous breakfast choices and very well presented breakfasts. Staff were friendly and attentive. Great value for money. Loved the mushroom in the vegetarian omelet......was delish!

We were very excited to try affogato given all the great reviews and information we had heard about the espresso shop and cafe. Instead, we showed up right before they closed and they said they couldn't serve us. We asked if they could even make 2 coffees to go, and we heard one barista say they could at least do... More

They were very busy when we ate here and we didn't end up getting our second coffee... but the food made up for it. Not your run of the mill breakfasts, great to see an inspiring menu. Food was healthy, fresh and very good and service was good considering how busy they were.

Called in here with my family including two small children just after arriving in Melbourne. The service was fantastic and friendly and food was simple and fresh, cooked brilliantly. Made for a great start to our trip, thanks!

We arrived at about 11am on a Saturday and the place was packed.. they did their best to fit us in but we eventually gave them our number and they called us when they had space. The food was good, coffee was tasty and easy to drink and the staff were really friendly and fun.

The staff here are so friendly and quick! The day my husband and I came here the builders next door had cut the water off, leading Affogato without water to do coffee for about 30mins. During this time the boys did such an awesome effort arranging bottled water and still powered thru! We were here around 11am and had the... More

The antique cutlery and setting makes this a stand out in the famous hardware lane of Melbourne. I had only tried breakfast here but it would have to be one of the best espressos I have had in Australia! (Nb. i was a barista for 3 years) As the name suggests you should also try an affogato (it was to... More
