There's not a lot one can say about fish and chips really but this is a great little spot The fish of the day, Blue Grenadier was light and tasty, with a lovely beer batter. I'd definitely go back. Cheap and cheerful too!

Loved every bite! Fresh, tasty & satisfying! Whatever is sprinkled on the chips created a taste bud disco! Service was great. Very helpful. Delicious fish and chips with a dash of fancy! Mwah!

First of all the fish and chips would be the best I have ever had - thus far. I regularly buy the fisherman's basket (around $10), which comes with two perfectly cooked pieces of fish and the most cruchy and perfectly seasoned chips you could ever ask for. All their fish and ingredients are freshly sourced, offering a large variety... More

Good selection of fish cooked well. Not really a sit down sort of place, but good outdoor eating available.

We had a wonderful summer lunch outdoors eating sublime fish and chips and fish tacos. All the fish looked so fresh. A great clean, genuine feeling about this fish and chippery.

We were staying nearby and got one of the family packs which came with a great assortment of different items. Some of the food was greasy, but the fish was really tasty, as were the chips. Service was friendly as well. Not the best fish and chips I have had, but still tasty.

We stayed in Carlton over Christmas and Tank was close by. We had the special fish and chips $9.90, which came with lemon and a tartare sauce(which I think was off). The fish was nothing special just battered fish but the chips were nice. Served really quickly and staff were friendly. I thought it was reasonably priced for what you... More

This fish and chip shop has the most perfect fish and chips I've ever had, from the basic Old School pack for just under $10 - fish and chips with home-made tartare sauce and lemon, to more gourmet selections with calamari and other sea food and fresh salad. You can also choose the sort of fish you prefer. The chips... More

Give the tired old Italian restaurants on Lygon St a miss and have a typical Aussie fish and chip supper at Tank instead. Friendly knowledgable service and really fresh fish accompanied by different salads in a funky restaurant, or get a speedy takeaway. Yummy.

The fish was lightly battered and very very good. The potatoe cakes were the best I have ever tasted. Excellent chips. Highly recommended. Not cheap but ok considering it is on the Lygon Street strip
