Vive Le France

Had the Express Lunch. Good value, the French do great things to chicken. Service was very attentive. Having travelled to France a few times the atmosphere made you feel you were there.

Excellent atmosphere, helpful and engaged staff, tasty food. Good wine list. A carpark down the hill and around the corner in Exhibition Street was a good thing, too.

The best French restaurant in Melbourne where you can take clients and business partners, whether out for lunch or for dinner. The atmosphere is reminescent of brasseries in Paris and the cuisine is top notch...Bravo Chef! Don't hesitate to ask for a table upstairs if you have a large group or party. The manager is always willing to accomodate and... More

We were shouted out to lunch by relatives I met for the first time. The service and the food were great. I would go again.

Set up as a typical Parisian Bistro it has all the feelings however we had the casoullet and both thought it pretty disappointing the beans were dry the meets tough and definitely not something I would have again. It did not remind me of the French dish at all.

Stumbled across this place on a cold Melbourne night walking the laneways. The menu has classics such as Beef Bourgignon, Duck a'lorange, soup a 'loignon. All pretty good too. Mains around $38-$42 so for that price you have excellent service and can speak French to many of the staff as well. Gets busy but was no problem without a booking... More

We dined on a Friday night in a celebration dinner. we booked only the day before. We were ushered to the upper gallery which had the benefit of being toasty warm on a cold Melbourne night. It did slow service marginally but the delightful friendly French speaking servers were kept very busy. We were tempted with a 5 course degustation... More

We celebrated our wedding anniversary here, and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming and food was simply divine. I had the Canard d'lorange and husband had the beef entrecote, and both were lovely. My duck was a little undercooked, but they redid it without any issues. The service was outstanding, and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this for a... More
