From good to very bad

Been here before and had lovely dinner. Tonight I came here for a quick note to eat. Next time I'll go to McDonalds. Cold plates, no taste, wrong cooked meat and French fries that tasted of cold oil. Pure poor kitchen management. Pity on a place that used to be good.

I think we may have just caught them on a bad day with their 'Melbourne Food and Wine' set menu, because none of us were impressed by this restaurant. I couldn't fault the service from the ladies who looked after us, but there was a brash, loud man who may have been the manager, who disciplined a member of staff... More

After arriving late in Melbourne we wandered down the lane from our hotel looking for a little dinner. We almost didn't go into this restaurant in a side lane but something made us go back. There were a few diners at a bar area near the entrance but it was pretty quiet inside. We were immediately welcomed in and seated…... More

Lovely night out for two of us. Wandered in without a booking. Very welcoming and frieondly service. A few little extras thrown in sweeten the deal including a secret drink which they serve with the bill. I bet its champagne with St. Germaine liqueur but they wouldn't say.

We went to La Brasserie Francaise with a group of friends. There was 8 of us on a large table. We had a very nice welcome but service was a bit slow. Food was typical of a French brasserie. We paid more than $600 for the 8 of us.

I have been to a few French Restaurants in Melbourne however this one is by far the best that I have been too. When we first walked in we were treated as though we were the only people in the restaurant. We started off with some complementary cheese bread which was amazing. As it was my partners birthday we had... More

Every time I've been here I've not had a booking. They've always been extremely accommodating and the food has been consistently great. Personal attention from the owner, great service and good food makes for a great experience. Will keep going back.

It was not busy for a Friday, and is typically French. We would certainly go back and we recommend it. Besides good food and wine, we found the service particularly friendly and attentive. We were made welcome and encouraged to come back.

Read about this restaurant prior to going to Melbourne. Had actually booked another restaurant for dinner last Saturday night but ended up changing our booking to the French Brasserie and was so glad that we did. Our waitress Lola was wonderful and very attentive (without being intrusive). Shortly after being seated we were provided with lovely bread and the best... More
