I wasn't disappointed by this funky little cafe in Hardware Lane. We got there early on a week day, so only waited ten minutes for our table. The service was friendly and fast. The baked eggs with chorizo was divine! Highly recommended. I'll be back next time I'm in Melbourne.

Have been waiting ages to return to the Hardware Societe (I'm from Sydney). The place didn't disappoint. We got to enjoy the weekend brunch menu which even included pork belly - who could complain about that, right? Had to wait about 30 minutes for a table. We got there around 0945 and were seated shortly after 10. The place gets... More

It was a nice morning for breakfast so we decided to go and try this popular cafe. Luckily we got there fairly early and only waited about 10mins, even with a 1yo with us. But they seemed to only have 1 booster seat, so we had to handle our son for a bit longer before he could settle in a... More

This is a great cafe with amazing food. I got a breakfast special of brioche french toast topped with panna cotta and a poached pear - sounds intensely sweet but it was all perfectly balanced and delicious. The coffee of course is great. I came at peak time on a Sunday morning and only waited for about 10 minutes for... More

Its worth wait ! Good food, lovely resturant with a dynamic atmopshere that certainly helps to kick start the day ! The coffe is very good. The breakfast is certainly worth more visits with its wide selection. Had the baked eggs and scramed eggs and they were done perfectly with just the right touch of seasoning ad flavour that its... Came here upon the recommendation of two friends. As expected with most popular brunch spots in Melbourne, some wait (i.e. 30 minutes or more) is required for a table if you're dropping by on a busy weekend. The host's wait time estimation was quite spot-on as we got a table within 30 minutes. I had the mocha which I thought... More

Loved the food, I enjoyed baked eggs with crusty bread & olive oil. Orange juice and coffee were a hit. Some of the tables are large enough which allow multiple couples or groups to sit together. My wife and I enjoyed this experience as we sat with enthusiastic people we have never met before and all enjoying the dining experience.

Have obviously read many good things about this place, and living in Melb have seen the weekend line up. I had relatives in town mid week and thought would give it a go. Decor lovely, presentation creative, food tasty and homely (I had a lovely 5 grain porridge). However, it is clear that turnover is paramount and smiling is obviously... More
