Upon a friend's recommendation, we hit this spot for a feed and drink. The Sangria was not the best we'd had and a little weak. We enjoyed the jamon and manchego, croquetas, lamb ribs and prawns. Although we thought the serve of the prawns was a little small for the price. We weren't entirely convinced about the patatas bravas, but... More

The location of this restaurant is perfect-down a little alleyway. The sliding door was quaint with a bag of sand at one end to weight the opening and closing of the door. The food was good, but not great. Some of the staff were very friendly and some staff were very cold-to the point of being rude. Even though I... More

A craving for Spanish food led us to this laneway restaurant tonight. We ordered the croquetas, empanadas, ribs and patatas bravas, and they all hit the spot. Accompanied by Spanish cider served in glasses that transported me right back to San Sebastian, and with a buzzy atmosphere, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

I was ripped off. We ordered 1 litre of sangria at $50bwhich was already overpriced and served 2 x 1/2 litres at $54. We asked for paella for one at $33 and were not told the minimum order was for 2. Imagine my upset when $66 of the totabilling was for Paella. I was not told of this. The food... More

Been there several times, mostly for lunch and once for dinner. Dinner experience was less enjoyable, one dish being completely forgotten and service a bit slapdash. Food is very good, but the menu is getting a little tired

We had the Chef's selection, a great way to have a taste of a wide range of dishes, and just the most amazing food. The resturant is located in one of the many lane ways in the Melbourne CBD and is definitely worth taking the time to go and try their menu. You will want to go back ... did... More

My wife took me here for my birthday and she could not have picked a better place. Everything about it was great, the service, the food, the drinks and the atmosphere. The only thing i could think of was that maybe the potato over powered the octopus in the house made octopus but that's just my taste, still tasted soooooooo... More

Extraordinary cuisine, I have visited here twice and gets better and better. The choice of Chefs Selections is ideal to share with a partner or a group of friends. The staff are professional and kind (with 1 only exception...a rude "maitre de" woman whom I haven't seen here before, red glasses, with undoubtedly lack of customer service experience). The wine... Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
