We only went here for a drink after being out to dinner. We are from a regional area and were very surprised by the drink prices. First round was $41 for a glass of wine, a gin and tonic, a pint of cider and a pint of beer. I thought it was expensive, our son paid and he didn't question... More

A group of eight of us dropped in for a drink, and after enjoying a couple of the many beers available on tap decided to stay for a bite to eat. There was a good selection on offer, at reasonable prices. Our meals arrived after a short wait and were very large and delicious. The staff were friendly and service... More

Great place to meet for lunch and drinks on a Saturday afternoon before the footy or cricket. Lots of Beatles memorabilia, being directly across the road from where the Southern Cross Hotel once stood, and where the Beatles stayed in 64. Great meals, good English beers on tap. Staff can be rather rude though. Almost seems as if they're forced... More

This pub has great atmosphere and is situated right in the centre of the CBD in Bourke St. We had only just arrived in Melbourne and really felt like a beer. There was a very good range of ales on tap many of them boutique style. We ordered the Thursday special meal which was Steak, chips & salad with a glass of Shiraz... Had one night having plenty of pints ( White Rabbit Dark Ale ). The pints weren't cheap ( dearer than Guinness ) but tasted good. The $20 burger 'special' ( with a pot ) was very average. That smokey BBQ taste overpowered an already bland burger. Not good and certainly not worth $20. The beer and food was not the... More

Strolled in after landing from Canberra and immediately settled on bangers and mash at lunchtime on a sunny Thursday. The food came about 5 minutes later and was nicely presented, if cautiously flavoured in the case of the bangers. However....next day we were back, only because we fancied pub food rather than the many (tempting) Asian options available nearby. Shepherds... More

Went here last night before a show at the Comedy Theater. Ordered the Wagyu Burger? Place wasnt that busy yet the meal took 50 minutes to come out. People sitting after us got their meals before us. As for the burger it was debatable as to whether it was Wagyu or not as it appeared to be processed meat and... More

Had a lovely meal here. Got the chicken parma and it was excellent. Really good value for money as well, definitely a good place to go in the city centre.

Lovely pub lively and great service. Don't have the Ploughmans lunch as it has really terrible ham and pork pie. The steak is good though!
