Trendy casual and cosy.

Delicious food. Nice comfortable corners for groups to sit quietly in. Friendly quick service. Tall bar tables, outdoor tables in good weather - caters well for a small group or couples, and for a quick drink or a meal before a show. Usually busy but doesn't feel crowded.

This was our first visit to Curve Bar and thoroughly enjoyed. Unique menu and food deliciously presented. Efficient and attentive staff makes it a great venue for pre-show dining. My only comment would be that the lighting is a bit too low, can be challenging for reading the menu. Loved the cosy dining nooks on offer.

We were seated on the stools, directly below a speaker, which was blaring out something which we couldn't even understand. We asked for it to be turned down, two table waiters said it couldn't be done. We asked for the manager. He also said it couldn't be turned down, when we said that was nonsense his response was "I'm not... More

We always stop in before or after a show in the Melbourne Arts precinct. The tapas style food is delicious and there is a goodly wine selection. Sometimes get to chat with the performers or director. It's very egalitarian.

I met at Curve Bar @ The Arts Centre prior to attending the Speigeltent on the forecourt. The bar was conveniently not crowded. I ordered a Pinot Grigio and a Heineken Beer and gave the waiter $50. He gave me $17.50 change!!! Two drinks at $32.50?? ARE YOU KIDDING? Which means the beer must've cost between $10-15 a pint, and... More

There is no doubt this place is convenient after attending a show but it needs a shake up. We came for a meal after seeing a show and arrived about 8.15pm. A waiter did take our order and I think he brought our food and that was his last contribution to our dining experience. He was next seen about 10pm... More

The Curve Bar at the Arts' Centre in Melbourne throbs after the shows in the State Theatre, The Playhouse and the Hamer Hall finish. So expect a mob then at the bar of thirsty orchestral players and the odd thespian or four or five. Last December (2014) after Opera Australia's great Ring Cycle it was impossible to miss Brunnhilde and... More

After a concert and ballet came out together the bar was mobbed dark and noisy. It took bar staff forever to mix our drinks, expensive and week ones!

We arrived at curve on New Year's Eve after a concert just before 11. We found a table and waited in line to order coffee and supper. When we got to the top of the line we were informed that they have just shut the coffee machine. You are kidding - 11pm on New Year's Eve. The staff just shrugged... More

My second visit here at the arts centre for a show and decided after recommendation from the front desk where to eat was not unhappy. Order a medium meal of scallops on a bed of coleslaw and sauce beautifully presently and cooked just right then the salmon rillet again served beautifully and both dishes excellent value for money. Had 3... More
