At least it is popular after 5 hours of Wagner with members of the cast from stage crew to the walk-on mob and to the famous soloists while the orchestra seems to congregate outside en masse. Food is served up till quite late and the bar features many a good Scotch malt and a reasonable range of Aussie wines and... More

The Curve Bar is a great place for a drink after a show being right in the Arts Centre. The service is good and cheerful. The food is another matter. The menu states the steak is cooked medium. Well, yes it was but then has been stored ?frozen and then microwaved to warm it up. It was barely warm and... More

As a season ticket holder to the Australian Ballet, I have frequented Curve Bar at least 5 times a year over the past 5 years. Needless to say, my previous experiences, prior to my first visit for the 2013 season have always been excellent both in terms of service and food. Come 2013, I'm speechless as to the service that... Great spot for a drink & catch up before a play or concert. However, the kitchen needs to re-visit its menu and think again about simplifying flavours. We had the Blackened King Fish with warm salad - a dish that should focus on the freshness factors but instead mixed ingredients to the extent you were left feeling you had the... More

We had originally intended to catch a pre-dinner bite at the Mezze bar at the Arts Centre but the range of tapas on offering was rather meagre and so we went upstairs to Curve Bar. And were very pleased that we did. We were able to enjoy excellent service from a very attentive female waiter and a lovely share plate... More

Last night I went to see an Opera at the Arts Centre and arrived early... my friend was late, so I wandered in to Curve Bar for a glass of wine and something to eat. I walked up to the bar and found a wine list, then began to open it. A bar staff member approached me and snapped "if... More

V+Curve Bar provides excellent pre-show bistro food with well priced wine by the glass & great service. A share platter for two, asparagus side & 2 glasses of wine is around $60 Wait staff are really good & will ensure you meet your deadline

A great spot for a bite to eat and a drink after the show. Located under the spire in the Arts Centre, it's well located and easy to find if you are seeing something in the Arts Centre or at Hamer Hall. Friendly staff and good food.

We often visit the Curve Bar when we go to the theatre, and being regular theatre goers it's great to know we can rely on it. Curve Bar always has great food - don't expect to go there for a long romantic dinner, it's far more of a pre and post theatre bar with great sharing plates as well as... More

Last week after the theater, a group from a visiting convention were assigned "supper" at the Curve Bar. Multiple "finger food" appetizers were served and not one was a treasure. Apparently pre-arranged by conference planners, we had no menu for choice. And since I cannot find the menu online, I cannot warn others what to avoid. One item, in particular,... More

Dear stlski, Thank you for your honest feedback. The menu served was not from our a la carte menu, but was specific for the conference planners needs, and was arranged in a very short time. The menu chosen by the conference planners was a canape menu, as they wanted guests to mingle. They also had a specific budget which we... More
