Almost a free meal - if only for Catholic guilt!!!

There is no doubt this place is convenient after attending a show but it needs a shake up. We came for a meal after seeing a show and arrived about 8.15pm. A waiter did take our order and I think he brought our food and that was his last contribution to our dining experience. He was next seen... read more

I met at Curve Bar @ The Arts Centre prior to attending the Speigeltent on the forecourt. The bar was conveniently not crowded. I ordered a Pinot Grigio and a Heineken Beer and gave the waiter $50. He gave me $17.50 change!!! Two drinks at $32.50?? ARE YOU KIDDING? Which means the beer must've cost between $10-15 a pint, and... More

The Curve Bar at the Arts' Centre in Melbourne throbs after the shows in the State Theatre, The Playhouse and the Hamer Hall finish. So expect a mob then at the bar of thirsty orchestral players and the odd thespian or four or five. Last December (2014) after Opera Australia's great Ring Cycle it was impossible to miss Brunnhilde and... More

After a concert and ballet came out together the bar was mobbed dark and noisy. It took bar staff forever to mix our drinks, expensive and week ones!

We arrived at curve on New Year's Eve after a concert just before 11. We found a table and waited in line to order coffee and supper. When we got to the top of the line we were informed that they have just shut the coffee machine. You are kidding - 11pm on New Year's Eve. The staff just shrugged... More

My second visit here at the arts centre for a show and decided after recommendation from the front desk where to eat was not unhappy. Order a medium meal of scallops on a bed of coleslaw and sauce beautifully presently and cooked just right then the salmon rillet again served beautifully and both dishes excellent value for money. Had 3... More

The atmosphere really makes this place! It offers a decent wine list at reasonable prices (considering the location!) and food was okay - tasty but nothing too memorable, although the cheese platter is good portions and nice selection. It's really all about the atmosphere here; we went for a drink and snacks after a MSO performance and it was buzzing... More

Trendy eatery within the arts precinct. Great place to visit before a show featuring good food and drink. Excellent spot to meet friends, have a break from sightseeing or do some 'artist' spotting.......you never know who you are going to see.

Great place for a pre-show drink and snack. Advertised on menu that food delivered to table 20 - 30 minutes during busy periods, but we got our food much quicker than that and the place was full. Good wine selection. I ordered some sliders and the octopus, which were nice but not amazing (the pulled pork slider was the highlight).... More

The Curve Bar is a popular place for a snack before or after the theatre. Their range of "sliders" (Tapas if you will!!) has options for the meat eater or vegetarian. And the wine list is extensive. The friendly staff are responsive and friendly. There is a real buzz in the crowd.
