An excellent breakfast!

You almost cannot go wrong in Degraves Street, and we never have. This is just another example of Melbourne excellence!

This place was right next to our hotel so was great for our breakfast. Had seating in and out with heaters blaring but as it was a little chilly and windy chose indoor seating. Was taken to a lovely booth right out the back which was nice and quiet, very cosy. Service was quick and the food was yummy. The waiters... More

Il Tempo was a delightful surprise on a recent visit to Melbourne. Fabulous Italian food, great wine, lovely waitstaff. There's a lot of competition for restaurant dollars around Melbourne, but I'd go back here to spend mine. Try the taglieri di formaggi and the duck breast - molto bene!

Service was very good, restaurant was warm and cozy on a very cold Melbourne evening. Food was disappointing though. Pasta with pork ribs had total of 2 ribs on the plate with scarcely any meat on them. Complaint brought forth an extra rib on a side plate but again no meat on it, just lots of sauce. Dry martini was... More

I sat inside. It was not loud even though there was a table of 8 or so sitting next to me. The wait staff was good telling me about the specials. I decided to go for the salmon I had seen on the menu when I walked by earlier in the day. Even though they had a daily fish special... More

The wait staff were fantastic wonderful people very happy to serve looking like they love their job which makes for a wonderful experience. I ordered something off the menu and the waiter said to me I should try something from the specials board it's very similar abut much cheaper then he said I guarantee it if you don't like it... I had just arrived for a day of touring in Melbourne from where I was staying in Ripponlea, and was starving. Some people mentioned to walk down the street and go down a side alley for some good local food. So doing that I discover an alley full of places to eat, choosing II Tempo. I had eggs Benedict and... Having been to Italy we often avoid Italian restaurants in Aus, as they are rarely authentic and not comparable. We took a chance with Il Tempo and it certainly paid off! We started with delicious bruschetta, allowed the waiter to choose our meals and had a wine from Sicily. Would absolutely go back!

A large cafe compared to others in the Melbourne lanes. Decor was interesting to look at. Seating in and outside. We chose to sit inside on mezzanine floor - looking down on the lane. Typical Italian welcome - look at our menu and come inside. We were made very welcome by manager/owner on the street. Suggested we sit upstairs in... More

Amazing!. In my opinion Il Tempo is one of those places that can become ur favorite hangout quiet instantly, warm service, resonable pricing for the rather up-prized degraves lane, no happy hours though compared to a lot of places just across and around..But a cool outdoor sitting, great selection of wine and delicious food. Ceasar Salad and Bruschettas were excellent.... More
