High expectations from a number of reviews and friends who had recommended it, but ultimately, slightly disappointed. Ate at a Saturday lunchtime and despite the service being fast and friendly, the beer cold and the margaritas excellent, the food lacked a little punch. Bear in mind, we've eaten at a lot of Mexican restaurants in Australia, the US and in... More

Drink and starters came out within 5 mins and mains within 10 mins even though restaurant was fully booked out. Everything was delicious and fresh.

We knew this restaurant was always busy so we got there for an early dinner- lucky we did as it was nearly full at 4:30pm on a Sunday afternoon- by the time we left just after 6pm the que was down the stairs and out the front door. That aside the food was amazing and the atmosphere was great. The... More

Went here after seeing line ups several days, no line up early lunch time, sat at the bar, good spot. Great drinks menu, friendly atmosphere but disappointed with some of the food. Unfortunately one of our courses went missing so we had quite a wait. A little overpriced in my opinion.

A friend of mine took me to Mamasita for dinner and drinks one weeknight. You know the place is good when there's a line to get in. While waiting my friend and I got to chit chat and catch up. The wait didn't seem long. We sat at the bar before getting a table. The place is casual, offers good... More

Mamasita is a typical Melbourne experience. If you don't mind the almost certain wait on the stairs before snaring a table. Once you get seated, the music is pumping and engaging and the heavily tattooed and hipster wait staff and the right kind of friendly. The Mexican drinks menu is expansive and worth some investigating. The other dinners are filled... More

Ok, so you have to queue. Which in itself isn't that great, but it almost makes the experience at Mamasita even more worthwhile. Luckily we dined here on a Tuesday night and the wait passed quickly. The service was swift and friendly, and every plate of food put in front of us was to-die-for! I even ventured into tequila territory... More

We are visiting from London & this place was recommended by some people we met at another restaurant last night. We went straight in (thank goodness we didn't have to queue!) The menu was printed in feint ink & hard to read. We ordered drinks first but our food arrived long before the drinks. There was more ice in the... More

We went in for a late dinner and only had to wait a few minutes for a table before being seated quickly. The service was efficient but not particularly friendly, which is understandable considering how busy the restaurant is but still not as great as it could be. We ate the corn skewers, plantain chips, a quesadilla and a few... More

We went early having read reviews about the wait time. So we had a 50 min wait getting to a table right on 7pm. The staff first off were great very attentive and kept topping up our water and checking that everything was good. We ordered the corn to start.... So yum I ordered more. We then ordered 3 dishes...
