Best value sushi lunch in Melbourne

Worth lining up for if you hit the lunch rush. I've been going here for years and the prices have hardly changed. The sushi is usually on point and $6.50 for 3 rolls and a miso soup you can't go wrong. Just make sure you know what you want to order before reaching the counter. Best time... read more

My partner and I arrived for an early lunch at about 11:50 am, which turned out to be the perfect time. As soon as we sat down after ordering, people started rushing in and queuing up. Before long the queue was out the door and down the street. Getting there early is definitely a must. Everything is surprisingly cheap (most... More

A queue at 2.30pm but for a reason - tasty, fresh and cheap. Quick service. Self service ginger & wasabi on tables. Will revisit

Queued for a bit during lunch time (about 10 min) but so worth it ! Fresh sushi and sashimi and excellent hot dishes too. Quick service and good value for money. Would go again.

We were watching the queue from another restaurant and saw the incredible queue and wonder what could be so good so we went on the queue next day and ..... I got a bento and it was below $10 and simply had all the flavours and texture as you would find in many others more expensive places. Was it better?... More

Get there before midday if you don't want to queue. Really fresh sashimi, good prices. The tempura prawns are excellent.

Outstanding sushi and other dishes, I go here at least once a week. Be prepared to wait in line but it moves fast. It's a small place so I usually just take take away. Very affordable too. Lots of vegetarian options.

The lobster sushi roll was my favourite! A good variety of sushi rolls to choose from, it was cheap and delicious.

Heard a lot of good reports of this place that I had to try it out. There was a queue of about 10 people even though it was almost 2pm. Had already had a lunch but decided to order the two sushi combo plus miso for $5. You had a choice of any sushi roll and they even cut it... More

Not only is it most likely the best value lunch in Melbourne - it's possibly the best sushi in Melbourne too. Big call I know but it really is. $5 for 2 rolls and a miso that's super tasty and super fresh - can't beat that! I've been coming here for a few years now - walk across town for... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
