Delicious food with extremely well-trained staff. We enjoyed it so much that we ate there two out of the four nights we were in Melbourne.

We booked for 8pm but had to change to 9pm and they were happy for us to do that! When we got there it was understandably quiet and the kitchen closed soon after. We could still order food and the waiter was very friendly although it was late. Food was outstanding and the pork ribs were so tender, they fell... More

Fantastic food in relaxed atmosphere with steak that you order by cut and by how the cow was fed. The menu has other items for non steak lovers too. You need a reservation but it is worth it

I travel alot and eat at some great places but tonight was a classic. If you are looking for simple classics prepared brilliantly, friendly service and a great local wine list then eat here. Tonight will be hard to beat.

Simply one of the best steaks I've had. Service swift and friendly, wines great too. Garlic sauce on the prawn starter was outstanding. In sum, good place for a meat feast while in Melbourne.

Never written a review before but just had to after dining at Rare steakhouse Uptown on Tuesday. I've eaten at many fine steakhouses in USA and this ranks up there. Service was fantastic, steaks cooked to absolute perfection and the Blue Cheese steak sauce is a must. We make it a point to try go somewhere different to eat every... More

Organised a last min booking here with some work friends and absolutely enjoyed every bite of my delicious steak! The waitress was very friendly and recommended the perfect steak for each one of us. I'm pregnant and have to eat my steak well done (which I don't usually like) but that had to be one DELICIOUS, tender, tasty steak I've... More

Not much more to say after that. Wait staff were very considerate, I like a really thick cut of steak and it was prepared exactly as I like it. Try the blue cheese sauce too!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
