Ventured to the Lord Cardigan recently and was ecstatic with the dinning experience with friends. The food was of the highest quality from the house baked break to the St Helen's oysters and the to die for duck and vegetable pie . It was fresh, tasty and wonderfully presented. The wine list was spot on we tried a Margaret River... More

What a great afternoon for lunch, the food was great it tasted as it looked yummy. There was a good selection and variety. We never have dessert, but OMG how delicious. What a great place to enjoy a great Sunday lunch relaxing. It is great to have good staff who want to help and always smiling. The Sunday roast was a... More

The waitresses were very friendly and seemed to genuinely enjoy being there; rare for any restaurant! The food was perhaps a limited selection but interesting. The hickory smoked duck was a particular standout, as was the pannacotta for afters. I'm unsure why Lord Cardigan isn't higher up in the TripAdvisor rankings, but it sure should be. Highly recommended.

We had our 2 year anniversary here and the owner/waitress/hostess treated us like royalty! She suggested things to try and was spot on. We enjoyed French champagne, oysters, truffles and soufflé, just to name a few. It was a memorable night.

I live in Albert Park & always seem to be reviewing places far from home. Well this is my local favorite. It is always good when the owners are present. Dominic is front of house while he husband John heads the kitchen team. Nothing is too much trouble if you are interested in good wines. Once Dominic knows what you... More

We got taken to Lord Cardigan by a couple of friends last weekend and what a pleasant discovery it was. A real restaurant, which is a change from all the gastropubs which have taken over Melbourne over the past few years. All the food was excellent, so was the wine and the staff were attentive and very friendly. I noticed... More

We dined mid-week so the joint was not packed out so it was hard to explain why the courses took so long to arrive - is there only one person in the kitchen? Apart from a very bland tterrine (entre) which was accompanied by particularly full taste pate (but what a combination?) the mains were quite satisfaying. We had the... More

We were staying in the Albert Park area of Melbourne and wanted to try out a good local restaurant. I used Trip Advisor to select Lord Cardigan and reserved a table for 8pm on a Friday night. We arrived on time and were shown to our table and as I looked around I noticed that not a single table in... More

After an average meal, we were treated very badly by the waitress when we went to pay, in part, with a voucher. It was a voucher we had won and we told the restaurant when we booked and when we arrived that we would be using it. We were then harassed - it was very embarrassing and very disappointing. I... Having been a regular customer over 4 plus years we went to Lord Cardigan tonight to celebrate the mother in laws 80th birthday and what a treat it was. Great service and food with a large selection of wines to choose from. We sampled half the menu between us - oysters were a highlight - great veal - lamb excellent.... More
