We arrived on a Monday night around 8pm, we had a bottle Morgon bouteille, it went well with the oysters. But wouldn't carry the mains that we ordered. It would good if the wine person has a better knowledge of the wines. The food was very good and we went up to siglo and bought some cigar and a bottle... More

One of my most memorable and favourite wine bars in Melbourne. This wine bar has an eclectic international wine list. I have to say the service is absolutely shocking. I arrived and the staff were disinterested and bored. They seemed to be more interested in cleaning the bar and the wine glasses. Customers were not a priority!

We went to a great wine tasting upstairs in a hidden room. What great staff and the wine was fabulous. We will be back.

This was a fantastic experience. I went here with my grandpa who is an avid wine drinker. He could not fault the waiters experience with wine and specifically matching the correct wine to our food (thankfully otherwise the name would be a bit wrong). The food came out fairly quickly and was really good. We usually sit outside on the... More

Sitting out on the footpath with a glass or two of wine in the late summer is one of life's pleasures. As well as having a medium-sized wine list, you also have the option of selecting a bottle from the wine cellar and having it opened for a quiet drink. A range of food options is also available,so you can... More

Dropped in here for a drink after work. Lots of patrons with the same idea. Nice ambiance and the food looked genuinely nice ( although we didn't actually eat) Service a little slow but they are quite busy. Give it a go. It is next door to 'The Grocer' and just up from the corner of Spring and Bourke streets.

One thing about City wine shop that got my attention was the expansive selection of wine to drink or take home. The display wall is quirky with prices written in chalk with no rhyme or reason or how they came up with the prices which seem a random set of numbers.i.e 42, 73, 51 etc. plenty of interesting food to... Wandering around looking for a place to eat and it looked interesting.A very lucky choice.Fascinating array of wines from all over the world at very reasonable prices. Terrific food ranging from tapas style to main courses. The staff are very knowledgeable and make excellent suggestions within the price parameters. Eating is either at the bar or on as shared long... More

Another visit to a great place. The wine is nice and the staff know what they are talking about. Friday nights are always busy so our group met last Thursday for 'Bon voyage' drinks. Had dinner there as well; delicious meals and as usual a friendly atmosphere. Never disappointed!
