Travelling alone, I sat down and enjoyed this restaurant for the gem it is. I had lunch and a lovely white.

This bar and cafe may be known for its exceptional food and wine but I vote it as the best for tea and coffee. The brand of tea they use is amazing and I am going to buy it back home. The coffee was consistently good. Staff were friendly and professional.

This is one of only three excellent wine bars in Melbourne - Watson's in Carlton and the Valley in Moonee Ponds being the others - and this is the high end and pricey one. It justifies the pricing by having a great location, great wine selection, really good food and, above all, knowledgeable staff. It's worth the money, and the... More

Recommended by a local. Sat at a table on the pavement, on a perfect summers night. Just the right amount of attitude from the waiters (they DO know their wines!)...& delicious small plates of tempting savouries (cheese, olives, polenta chips TDF). The trams rumble past, the sirens scream...but somehow all this adds to the atmosphere.

This is one of our favourite places in Melbourne so sit and sip a glass of sparkling wine, sharing a small bowl of olives, watching the world go by. Just opposite the Parliament and close to the corner of Bourke St & Spring St.

What a cute little place with knowledgable friendly staff. I closed my eyes and imagined I was at La mise au Verre in Nice, France. They have done a terrific job with the ambience and the meals are very good.

Whether you're after a pre-show tipple, romantic dinner date or just want to while away the afternoon drinking and watching passer-bys this is the place to do it. City Wine Shop is a Melbourne institution for a reason.

A very pleasant little spot for a tipple. Particularly enjoyable for the odd riesling after a hard day's work. I have always found the staff to be pleasant and efficient here and so it was yesterday. I shall certainly keep returning.

This is one of my favourite places to eat in Melbourne. Because it's popular, however, there can sometimes be quite a wait for a table or a seat at the bar. The atmosphere is relaxed, the ambience warm and cozy, and the service generally efficient and friendly. The food from the changing menu is always fresh, tasty and reasonably priced.... More
