Depending when you go, it can be half full or very busy after a nights work. Pick your times and come a enjoy a great part of the city. They have an advanced and wide range for all tastes. I have nothing other than very good service. On A nice day the outside setting gives visitors to Melbourne a great... More

My wife took me here to meet up with some friends after work for a drink and meal. I was very surprised, given I had no preconceived ideas. Although the place is rather small, cramped and a tad noisy (especially if you are sharing a table with a couple of particularly over exuberant girls!), the experience, wine, tapas and meals... More

City wine Shop has great atmosphere, but it's small don't automatically assume you will get a table or a bar stool. The food is very good - tapas mainly. It's a great place for a buzzy evening in summer or winter.

Down in Melbourne for a conference, met up with a friend - this is the place she had to take me. Well it was so great I went back again the next day with a work colleague from the conference. The first occaision was for dinner, the second just for tapas. And of course, the wine tasting. The food was... More

I was recommended this place by friends in London who are in the wine business. Rightfully so! The wine shop has a great selection, you can just walk in and have a wonder at the shelves filled with lovely bottles from all over the world, you can sit at the bar and enjoy a glass, and a bite of you... This place has never served a bad meal. Ian Curley offers classic dishes, like the world's best chicken schnitzel with coleslaw or mouth watering gnocchi. The cheese list is always interesting and the serves OK. There are many elements to its success, none less important than the bar, with plenty of stools and room to eat and drink. For a... More

The City Wine Shop is one of Melbourne's gems. The food is consistently good, but the obvious draw card here is the wine. The wine selection is heavily European based and pretty well priced. It is a fairly eclectic mix of wines from iconic labels to cult favorites and boutique offerings - I usually chat to the bar staff who... More

My wife and I have been here now four times in Melbourne. It always is reliable in every respect. The kitchen is amazing...I have never had a bad meal here. The wine selection is excellent, both by the glass, and the recommendations are great. Tonight we they recommended a very small winery Pinot Noir from the Yarra Valley....only 3000 vines,... More

This bar and cafe may be known for its exceptional food and wine but I vote it as the best for tea and coffee. The brand of tea they use is amazing and I am going to buy it back home. The coffee was consistently good. Staff were friendly and professional.
