Myself and a friend stopped here for a glass of wine and a small bite to eat.. Wine list was exceptional, staff very friendly and accommodating.. The food was perfect! I recommend the oysters to everybody!! Delicious! It's a small venue, but with an excellent atmosphere.. Will definitely return.

We stumbled on this wine bar, near the Princess Theatre, and returned for dinner to a packed house. Good food, great wines by the glass, and better by the bottle at a good price. The wine list changes but greatly enjoyed the Pellegrino Fine Rubio Marsala (dessert wine). Being seated outside was not a problem however thankfully the person smoking... More

Linked to the European Restaurant this is a good place for a glass of wine or a few and good food. The place has atmosphere with wine decked walls. It is a bar and not a full service restaurant but well worth a visit. Enjoyable.

Another great few hours spent in this Melbourne institution. Tried several Italian and French reds; all delicious. I find it amazing that grapes like sauvignon blanc, trebbiano and chenin blanc are so great in Old World wines but average or undrinkable here. Also enjoyed a charcuterie board snack and the terrific polenta chips. We always visit here when we come... More

My wife took me here to meet up with some friends after work for a drink and meal. I was very surprised, given I had no preconceived ideas. Although the place is rather small, cramped and a tad noisy (especially if you are sharing a table with a couple of particularly over exuberant girls!), the experience, wine, tapas and meals... More

City wine Shop has great atmosphere, but it's small don't automatically assume you will get a table or a bar stool. The food is very good - tapas mainly. It's a great place for a buzzy evening in summer or winter.

Down in Melbourne for a conference, met up with a friend - this is the place she had to take me. Well it was so great I went back again the next day with a work colleague from the conference. The first occaision was for dinner, the second just for tapas. And of course, the wine tasting. The food was... More
