The Melba is well known for its buffet, but it is expensive (AUD99). The selection is very extensive with Asian, Indian and traditional Australian fare. There is also a selection of seafood (prawn, crab, oysters, bugs, etc). Unfortunately, nothing was "exceptional". If quantity is your thing, then this is probably the place for you. If you are looking for more... More

The ritzy Langham hotel tucked away behind Southbank is famous for two different dining experiences; its afternoon tea and it's buffet lunch. Having previously tried the former I decided it was about time I completed the set and headed there for a midday graze yesterday. I arrived around midday but the restaurant (Melba) was already filling up. The dining options... More

We stayed at the Langham overnight & came here to breakfast the next morning. The breakfast is by no means cheap but it is a lovely setting & the staff are helpful. The selection of food is quite good & the food itself is very tasty. I would like to see even more selection of food perhaps, especially in terms... More

Loved the place, the food but still thought it was overpriced for the food offered though it was tasty. Went there for the dinner buffet and would recommend it to a friend provided that s/he is not dying for sophisticated food.

Looking for a chance to spoil yourself for lunch in the city ...head to the Langham Hotel for a buffet in the Melba restaurant. A good selection of foods, excellent service, good drinks and relaxing. Not too cheap at $57pp; but to spoil yourself once in a while, why not. Do ring a book if you want table next to... More

Had high expection as recommended by a local friend. Food was decent, nice atmosphere and a good range of seafood (South Australian prawns, crab legs, fresh sashimi etc.). If you want to save money but still taste the selection, go on a weekday lunch buffet as we only paid $57 each (at least $85 for weekday dinner and can be... More

Not a lot of options for vegetarian but everything I did have was great. The naan bread is AMAZING. We've been there a couple of times and it's always the same veg curries so gets a bit boring but the desserts make up for it. Remember to book well in advance. Also, the breakie is really good too!

The great thing about this upscale restaurant is that it is a buffet so you can eat as much as you like rather than some tiny portion. I had about 5 full plates of delicious food ending with chocolate fountain. Awesome. A little expensive though but yummy.
