Marvelous Melba

A truly enjoyable experience. We are foodies and we just love the smorgasboard. Especially the fresh seafood which is right up there with some of the best seafood places we have been to. My husband loves the carvery and I can't go past the dessert selection. I was very disappointed that the... read more

This is NOT your average smorgas board. The chefs at each station give advice, answer questions and will cook to your taste.

This is the in-house restaurant at the Langham Hotel. The a la carte menu seems excellent, service is great, wine list is good, we had a great sommelier as well.

My son and I enjoyed the buffet breakfast. I awoke to find he had gone down to breaky, the staff had kindly given him (a13 year old boy) a fantastic seat with a perfect view over the river. He had been eating for 2.5 hours when I arrived. He still talks about it and dreams of going back.

What an elegant and beautiful array of food the Melba offers. Be it breakfast, lunch or dinner, Melba's wont let you down. Their staff are just wonderful, very thoughtful and attentive. Melba's is a class act!

A la carte dinner was excellent. I’m vegetarian, and there were options on the menu to suit. My husband ordered steak and it was cooked to his liking perfectly. We were given the option of the buffet dessert which was very nice. A huge selection of small but beautifully presented cakes, tarts etc., plus ice cream, strawberries and a chocolate... More

I visited Melba with a couple of friends on a Thursday night. I had heard great things about the restaurant, but was very disappointed by the experience. Let's start with what I did like - the fresh oysters, the sashimi station and the Wagyu beef cooked to order were delicious. Unfortunately the other parts of the buffet left much to... More

Good presentation and a fair selection, but the food quality is average! Deserts look wonderful but were largely tasteless. Next to no seafood (except prawns which I suspect were cooked in unsalted water and so also tasteless). The customer service was also very average. My online booking was not confirmed, so I had to call and follow up. I had... More
