A friendly cafe good for small groups. Wine list limited. Mixed Italian food.

This place always has a loud buzz (almost noisy) - its hard wood décor and lots of chalkboard specials. For dinner I recommend the bruschetta with mushrooms and truffle oil followed by the ox cheeks accompanied by a bottle of the Montepulciano (red) ($55). Prices for food range from $9 to $40 so... read more

We were in town for the weekend, and needed breakfast and were walking thru Degraves Street and saw this restaurant. Nice cosy place, a slightly limited selection, but both of us found something that we wanted, and both meals were of an excellent quality, first time I have had chilli with my Breakfast and it was really good. Staff were... More

I found this place 5 years or so ago and revisited last week. The reason why I fell for this place is the following: passionate, wine loving owner, limited menu for food, but what they have is really good and then, the wine... The menu got expanded a bit since my last visit 2 years ago and some tapas were... More

Poor service, were rude and unhelpful! Politely asked to split the bill and got a negative response with 'work it out yourself'. Not returning.

Fabulous champagne breakfast with chilli scrambled eggs. Warm cozy atmosphere. Tables out the front have a great street traffic view but aren't very sheltered. Inside is best.

Found this liitle paradise by just walking past and wanting to find a nice small restaurant that didnt have all the bustling of the nearby Flinders Lane Melbourne. We were greeted and promptly sat to our table. Menu was extent and very different. Loved the wine listing which was also large considering the size of this lovely restaurant. Almost forgot... More

We booked a pre theatre dinner at La Citta and had a wonderful meal. The venue has an extensive beverage list and the menu offers a small but excellent selections of options. While the restaurant has an Italian theme it has a range of tapas options and my steak was perfectly cooked. We were so impressed with our meal that... More

My wife and I enjoyed lunch at this great little spot near flinders station. The food was tasty and great value. The coffee was nice, food was prompty, the wine selection was wide. We definately will visit here again.

La Citta is located a little bit closer to Flinders Street than the other restaurants in very busy Degraves Street and it makes for a far more spacious and enjoyable dinning experience. The food is reasonably priced and the ribs entrée was succulent. Complimentary breads are supplied. Both my Wife (Pasta Ragout) and my Meal (Pasta Seafood) were delicious and... More

We tend to pop into La Citta at least once on all of our trips to Melbourne. It is consistent and their strong hot coffee is very welcome after the red-eye flight I tend to book (never learning my lesson). It is also generally easy to get into without reservation for breakfast during the week. The eggs benedict are consistently... More
