Reliable and Tasty Food

I dined here with my husband on a Sunday night after a day out exploring Bruny Island as it came recommended from quite a few sources. I was not very hungry so only had some oysters which were delicious if perhaps over sauced. My husband had a pizza which was tasty and crispy and he seemed very... read more

We ate breakfast here, and I found the menu creative and appetising. The meals were extremely tasty and the service was great. The staff know all about the menu and are very happy to make suggestions while being extremely attentive. I thought this place was perfect. Lovely decor, excellent food, coffee and service. Will certainly return when in Hobart again... More

We passed by the restaurant and had no reservation. There was availability on the shared table, very interesting concept and works well for smaller groups and single travelers. The food was great, home made gnocchi, beef cheeks and panacotta. A wonderful experience. I would recommend this restaurant and would suggest to make a reservation if you are not into sharing tables.

Food was simple but nice. Ambiance not great. Other diners were loud and obnoxious. Good value though. Good wine menu.

We dropped by late-ish on a Saturday night without a booking, and having been told there were no tables, were very happy to sit at the bar. We sat down and then spying a recently emptied table asked if we could sit at it. Apparently that was totally inappropriate, as the Maitre d' snapped at us that it was reserved... More

On a chilli Hobart morning we took a detour from the overrated Salamanca markets and stopped into Smolt for breakfast. The menu had lots of options which made it tough to choose. I had the potted eggs with chilli, mince and cheese and it was delicious. Coffee was also great. Highly recommended.

Had dinner here twice whilst on holidays, and both the food and service was excellent. Slow cooked primal lamb was succulent and juicy, the vegetables were perfectly cooked. Fish of the day was dubbed as the best meal hubby has had in a long time. Homemade pizza had the most lovely pizza sauce, and the homemade macaroni was also a... More

I reviewed Smolt 4 yrs ago, and returned there this week, while visiting Hobart. We shared a selection of small plates, the standout favourite for both of us was the Potted white fish with chorizo. Seriously delicious. The wait staff are really nice, made us very welcome, the restaurant is stylish and comfortable. Good selection of wine and Baladin soft... More

Was staying round the corner for 5 days and found myself returning time after time as the quality of food, presentation and creativity was fantastic! Very helpful and nice staff, high on my list when returning to Tassie!

Had one of my best meals in tassie here. I had the venison tartare followed by the lamb ragout which were both to die for especially the venison, the flavours were amazing. Highly recommend this place, wasn't that busy when we were there but looks like it gets very busy.
