We were in Hobart for a couple of days and made sure to come to Jackman & McRoss several times. It's best to have a bit of time because coffee may take a while to arrive but it's certainly worth it. We had their excellent pies (wallaby, scalllops), desserts, and of course coffee. The chocolate mousse was one of the... More

So many people and so many guidebooks extol the virtues of this place we knew we had to visit! It amazed us to learn that it was very close to our accommodation and so very close to Salamanca market which we had just visited. It seemed like the whole of Hobart had the same idea. Packed to the doors but... More

I don't review places I have break at often but this was a standout. The clay pot I had was brilliant and my friends was just as good. Great value, can't wait to return.

Based on the reviews I had high expectations. I'm not usually hard to please but our cooked breakfast left me feeling unwell, and our coffee was not near as nice as I'd expected. Also, I imagine the service might be more welcoming for regular locals? Staff weren't overly friendly with us. The sweets in the window were absolutely delicious though!

We visited the cafe on our second day in Tassie based solely on reputation and reviews... And we certainly weren't disappointed! The coffee was delicious (although could have been a tad hotter) and the cheese and ham croissant was the biggest and most authentic I've tasted outside of France! Their collection of pastries was to die for (and made it... More

My mouth starts watering as I read the Blackboard specials and I am never disappointed. The food, the service and the coffee - and the price makes this a DO NOT MISS in Hobart.

My family and I have been enjoying a loaf of Olive and Rosemary and also Pumpkin bread (when we are there early enough) for a regular Saturday lunch for many years now and we wouldn't change it for the world. The staff are always friendly and the coffee is consistently good. I am pretty sure my 4 year old is... More

YUM! This place was delicious and ticked boxes for me on a number of levels. The food was just amazing! Despite a whole list of food allergies the menu offered a number of alternatives for me, I choose the Salmon and Eggs and it was sooo good. The kids gobbled down there breakfast in a wink, and asked to go... More
