I enjoy the relaxed atmosphere along with the great food and service, I love the variety with the food. There's healthy choices also.

Yeah it was ok. Maybe we should have tried their breads or pastries. Our hot breakfast was good. Maybe I expected a bit more due to reputation and history.

Afternoon tea is a must. Cakes are divine. hot chocolate was hot and that is hard to find! The service was excellent. Good mix of locals and visitors like us.

I had salmon on flatbread with caramelized fennel which set me back about $15. I thought that was excellent value (promoting the cashier to identify me as a mainlander!) It was probably the nicest food I had during my brief stay in Hobart. I followed it up with the custardy donut thing. That's not the official name but it was... More

As a new resident to Hobart- coming into my second year, due to ease of location I often visit this establishment; at times I wonder why! The staff are so RUDE and at best disinterested. They really do not like their clientele. I am an old St.kilda girl,my local was Miss Jackson, just of Grey street; the staff there treated... More

This bakery/café has become a Hobart institution (and now has several outlets). Great coffee, pots of tea and fabulous baked goods which taste as good as they look. They now have a selection of gluten free items along with their regular savoury and sweet pastries, cakes, soups and breads. The café space has been expanded into the rear of the... More

Jackson's is one of the first places we visit when in Hobart. A pot of tea, custard filled pastry and we are officially on holidays. Great range of well presented tasty foods from soups, to pies and sweet pastry. Once full take a walk around Battery Point then pop back to Jackson's for a good coffee.

Jackman & McRoss is a gorgeous little cafe patisserie in Battery Point, a short walk from Salamanca. The food is delicious and the cakes and pastries are also delicious. The prices are very reasonable. We has the kale and goat curd slice $10.50 and a polenta slice with roar veg, Brie and ricotta $11.50. Seating is outside or inside. Service... More
