This bakery/café has become a Hobart institution (and now has several outlets). Great coffee, pots of tea and fabulous baked goods which taste as good as they look. They now have a selection of gluten free items along with their regular savoury and sweet pastries, cakes, soups and breads. The café space has been expanded into the rear of the... More

Jackson's is one of the first places we visit when in Hobart. A pot of tea, custard filled pastry and we are officially on holidays. Great range of well presented tasty foods from soups, to pies and sweet pastry. Once full take a walk around Battery Point then pop back to Jackson's for a good coffee.

Jackman & McRoss is a gorgeous little cafe patisserie in Battery Point, a short walk from Salamanca. The food is delicious and the cakes and pastries are also delicious. The prices are very reasonable. We has the kale and goat curd slice $10.50 and a polenta slice with roar veg, Brie and ricotta $11.50. Seating is outside or inside. Service... More

We had a lovely lunch and stocked up on pastries at this fabulous bakery and cafe. The staff were very friendly and the food was tremendous. A must do on your trip to Hobart.

After walking around Salamanca Market we took a walk here for some lunch. This was my second visit came here last year and was delighted with the pea and ham soup I chose for lunch. The place was very busy but we didn't wait long for service and meal. The staff were very friendly and courteous. I would have liked... More

Another "must visit" when I go to Hobart. The presentation of fresh bakery items is amazing; and the aromas and range of goods are mouth-watering. Perfect for morning tea or breakfast; or to grab a a tasty item to take back to accommodations for light dinner.

The vanilla slice here is divine although it tastes nothing like a typical vanilla slice. Strawberry heaven is probably a more appropriate name - if you have a sweet tooth, this is a must-try. The other cakes are quite nice as well and it is clear that this place can bake, but the service is appalling. The staff struggle to... More

As a vegetarian, I found a couple of tasty dishes on the menu. Will go back again. The coffee was tasty as well.

I stopped in to read a book, drink some Chai tea, which was homemade and delicious, and eat a savory danish special, which was scrumptious! This place was adorable, the service was great, and the atmosphere was quaint and lovely! It came highly recommended by some locals as a place I should really stop in to have coffee at while... More

The coffee was great and the menu extensive from the wonderful pies and pastries to a great menu of breakfast and lunch. It was a beautiful morning so we elected to sit outside for brunch. We both enjoyed our selection of a pastry and pie. Obviously a very busy place and definitely worth a visit when you're in Hobart.
