This restaurant is in the Dickenson's Arcade in Moonah, Hobart. Maybe a bit hard to find, but well worth the effort! The food is Japanese, and very tasty. The Bento Box is great value. I have had other dishes and they were all good. The service is really friendly and fast! Nice ambience in the restaurant too!

We almost gave up trying to find this little gem, but having been told that it was worth the effort we persevered and asked some lunchtime locals for directions. Glad we did! It is the best Japanese we have found in Hobart. It was delicious - Sashimi super fresh and very well presented, tempura super light and crispy, service was... More

Went to Kawasemi for the second time on Saturday for lunch and we were not disappointed. Sushi and service excellent. Presentation a plus. Minimal charge for byo. There is a Camel bottleshop close by and plenty of parking. Definitely will be going back.

I have been promising to get to Kawasemi for ages, as lots of people have recommended it. Being located in the Deep North -I.e. out Mooooonah way , it takes an effort to take the trip. BoyOhBoy .. this place exceeds expectations. Today we had a quick lunch, got there after 2pm & half expected them to be closed like... More

Purchased some takeaway from Kawasemi and we were not disappointed. The sushi was all prepared to order and was amazing. Thoroughly recommend the food, we will be going back to eat in shortly.

This unassuming small restaurant/café is hidden away in a suburban arcade. The food is very good (try the oyako donburi) and is very reasonably priced. I have been going there off and on for a couple of years now and have always enjoyed it - the staff are also very friendly.

I wasn't expecting much the first time I came here in October of 2011. Any locals will agree, Moonah isn't exactly a hub of cultural delights and yummy food. Kawasemi is quite difficult to review, as their main dishes are mostly revolting and tasteless... but their desserts are some of the best I've ever eaten. I've been there eight times... More

Booked for 6pm, entrees arrived promptly but mains had to wait for over an hour. When Bento meals arrived, most of the portions were cold, ... This restaurant can't cope with large numbers of guests. Would give it another go on a quiet day unless I just want to eat cold dishes.

This is a great little Japanese Tea House tucked away in Dickensons Arcade, Moonah. Atmospheric decor and a quiet dining experience. Quality Japanese dining at reasonalble prices. Bento box recommended for good value. Can get busy at lunchtime but part of the Japanese experience is to slow down and enjoy your food. It's not a lunchtime grab and run place.... More
