Montys was very welcoming late on a cold Sat night with the fires crackling, lovely ambience and sophisticated styling. Wine menu was a small selection of Tassie wines. Our mains of port cutlet and duck pie were enjoyable. We stretched to dessert because they sounded delicious and they didn't disappoint paired with a glass of dessert wine. A thoroughly enjoyable... We had a wonderful evening at Monty's. Food flavours were complicated and exquisite... and the menu was full of choices that are never cooked in a home... I like that, it gives me ideas! We chose a wonderful Tasmanian Merlot (which I have since ordered for home!) The service was attentive but not intrusive, and the ambience was good... not... More

This place is an absolute must for lovers of food, that are looking for a place to warm up in winter, while enjoying some of the best Tasmanian food Hobart has to offer. We sampled the Taster Menu, which takes your taste buds on a gastronomic journey, where every bite is perfect. The staff were very knowledgeable and our dessert... More

After reading reviews, we had high expectations. We love our food and was looking forward to having a great meal. We weren't disappointed. Everything was delicious, well priced, good portions and service was good. We had the eel and the salmon/mussels for entree (their complimentary bread was yummy - wished they had offered more!), beef cheeks and pork cutlet for... More

We loved Monthy's. The ambience is very impressive and stylish, service is friendly and charming. The food is very good but perhaps could have a bit extra - it wasn't the most memorable part. However overall it was a very good experience and I would certainly come back again.

We dined here on our last night in Hobart. Admittedly, we had enjoyed wonderful dinners at Smolt and Garagistes on the previous 2 nights so perhaps part of the issue was ours. It was a Friday night during the MOFO winter festival and the place was a bit lacklustre. The food was fine, the service was fine, the wine was... More

Took some sandgropers out to Monty's on their first visit to Hobart - they loved it. Meal was top class, service of a high standard and warm by the fire on a crisp night. Standards clearly haven't slipped with new operators. Highly recommended.

Monty's is definitely one of Hobart's best restaurants. I have dined here a few times now and would return. The food is great. We skipped the entrees and headed straight to mains as nothing really appealed to us and we wanted to leave room for the cheeses. The pork cutlet was great although slightly overcooked and dry, the tasty pearl... More

Great premises, great service and great food. We read the previous reviews and checked it out without disappointment. They happily catered for our kids and altered the menu to suit them without any dramas. We will return. Highly recommend the slow cooked beef cheeks!! Thanks for a great night.
