Breakfast at Salamanca

After doing a little bit of shopping at the Salamanca Market we decided that breakfast was in order so we tried Zum, we finally found a table and were attended to by a friendly waitress who said that there would be a approx. 20minute wait for food and coffees, this wasn't a problem. Stopped in for a late lunch after a full morning at the markets. Wanted a decent meal, not necessarily cordon bleu. Exactly what we got. Soup-of-the-day was hot and filling and the spicy calamari was just that. Service was quick and efficient.

We stopped here for a quick breakfast during our stay in Hobart and were impressed with the friendly staff, trendy cafe decor and good range of food available on the menu. We both enjoyed our mediterranean-inspired breakfasts and appreciated that there was more than just the typical tried and tested breakfast fare on offer. Prices were reasonable and overall it... Stopped by Zum for morning tea....coffees were average...not bad, but not great either. Service was very good though. The breakfast menu looked tempting....but it wasn't enough for us to want to come back when there are so many other excellent options in this space.

Dropped in while exploring the Salamanca Markets, the food was very tasty and very plentiful servings, the staff were great even though they were busy they were really attentive and were helpful with some local knowledge when asked.

Walked to long and realised it was getting past lunchtime and time to eat. Called into Zum and walked thru to the outside back area which was nice and peaceful. A shade sail would be an advantage. A bottle of Janz sparkling, prawn and scallop linguine and Focaccia Chicken. Both presented well and filled the spot along with the sparkling.... More

We ate a humble breakfast here at Zum, looking for protection from the rain while browsing Salamanca Market. They were full but the staff were very friendly and patient while we assessed our options. We ended up outside, under cover but not having to wait 30 minutes for a table inside. Popular place = good sign. We just had Burcher... More

Nicely located in the heart of Salamanca Place, Zum is a great cafe/bar/restaurant. The menu offers predominantly pizzas (great variety), salads and platters. The prices are average. Traditional pizzas cost around $15-20 but the gourmet ones are closer to $30. A large pizza is the size of a normal medium pizza. I was there on a Saturday evening and it... More

Relaxed atmosphere at Salamanca Place. The breakfast was delightful. We had fruit toast - 3 pieces was enough for two of us to share!
