Waited fifteen minutes and did not get served for coffees. Was not overly busy. Other local customers came in and got served. So I decided to walk out because staff were disinterested

Even on a freezing cold Hobart morning this cafe was jam packed. We sat outside and after a long wait with no service eventually were able to call someone over to take our order, who was promptly pounced on by all the tables near us as well! We had the cheese toastie and the eggs with mushroom. Very enjoyable meal... More

Just stepped in and was not sure what expect. In my mind I had a ? mark. The food was yummy and the coffee was made to order. Catered for gluten free which is a must for me. The service was very good. How they managed so well in a small kitchen amazed me. Stop by and try.

We stopped in for a quick breakfast, but underestimated the busyness of the cafe and the low ratio of staff to customers. We each ordered a toastie, thinking they'd be quicker food options than a big breakfast, however we waited about 40 minutes for them to arrive. They were however delicious and we could tell good, fresh ingredients were used.... More

We went here for a weekday breakfast, with a recommendation from a friend. However, we would not go back. The menu is fairly limited, but at least they had decent bagels. My husband's flat white was not hot, and too milky (insipid). The breakfasts were ok, but unremarkable. With so few days in Hobart, we regret missing out on more... More

We traveled from Sydney to Hobart for a weeks holiday and went looking for somewhere to have breakfast because the famous Pigeon Hole café in west hobart is closed on Sundays. Retro café had some good reviews so we decided to give it a try. It was pouring rain and we got to the front door of the café where... More

Stopped in for lunch with friends. The iced coffee was good (says the wife) and I enjoyed the burger, good beef pattie, nice and thick, with a salad though I did find it odd to have cucumber and carrot on a buger however very enjoyable. The wife's toasted sandwich was also good.
