Fantastic

This restaurant has consistently produced great food for several decades. On our last visit i had the Prawn Spaghettini and my mate had the Fishermans Selection. We both agreed that this was some of the best meals we had experienced in Hobart over the past 12 months. This restaurant has a great... read more

This restaurant has consistently produced great food for several decades. On our last visit i had the Prawn Spaghettini and my mate had the Fishermans Selection. We both agreed that this was some of the best meals we had experienced in Hobart over the past 12 months. This restaurant has a great atmosphere and receives strong patronage. But be warned....to... We visited the Drunken Admiral and got there early which was good because it got busy. The pirate theme is very good there and lots of interesting memorabilia to see inside the restaurant. The food was only fair. Three of us ordered the seafood variety plate and one order the fresh catch of the day. The fresh catch was freshly... More

Managed to get a table for two without a booking but this is a very busy restaurant and quite close to the cruise ship terminal so would recommend booking ahead. Food was great--very fresh grilled fish and a large serving of chips with salad. Prices are on the more expensive side so if you are looking for a cheaper alternative... More

Think of an underwater/pirate motif and you’ve got this place! Lots of interesting old things around the place though. Most importantly though, the food was great! Yes it’s not cheap but nothing around this touristy part of Hobart is - might as well pay for food you know is decent and enjoy the surrounds! Service was also good - friendly... More

We went here for drinks only after dinner as it was booked out due to popularity. This is one of the most interesting themed restaurants I have been in although the staff weren't dressed in theme everything else gave you the impression of being aboard a huge sailing ship. Drinks were reasonably priced. I get a little claustrophbic so if... More

Whilst the Fish Market Chowder remains amazing and highly recommended the other dishes we had were just ok. Not horrible but at the prices they charge I would want to be wowed. The Yachties Seafood Mixed Grill -$36.90 for 3 skewers (1 of fish, 1 of scallops and 1 of prawn) with a bit of salad and chips is way... More

I have been to the restaurant on two other occasions for work and on this occasion brought my wife for her birthday. We were very pleased with the service presentation nor the dishes and although they were fully booked the meals came out lightning fast and the seafood was really fresh and cooked superbly. Well done.

At first I was doubtful. I not only agreed to a strict 2 hour eating slot (commencing precisely at 5:30pm) but, upon arrival discovered the restuarant was decorated in a seafarers theme. Theme restaurants with timed dining periods has caution written all over it! But, I was wrong. The service was friendly and efficient. The menu catered widely to sea... More

Arrived without a booking & although they were fully booked the staff were very accommodating and found a table for us. Ordered the Fish Market Chowder and was still talking about it the next day because it was so good. Loved it!!!

A fantastic place to dine while in Hobart. The food is great - has a wonderful seafood menu - and the decor and atmosphere is fabulous. Can highly recommend for a great evening meal (is not open for lunch).
