Fantastic spot for a party!

What a great fitout, tacky as can be but it actually works. You get the feeling you're inside an old ship and it's a good laugh. Good service and very generous meals make it worth a visit when in Hobart. I had the fish pie which was enormous and everyone else in our party enjoyed their meals.

Make sure you book, this busy dinner restaurant is excellent everytime. With the mussels and the chowder amongst some of the best meals on the menu, if you love seafood this is the place to go. The Pirate and Nautical theme throughout only adds to the atmosphere. A must go if you are visiting Hobart!

I took it upon myself to sample all of the chowder I could find in Hobart. Look no further. It is indulgent and flavorsome and wholesome. A bit disappointed that they've removed the salad bar which was something a little special that made this place stand out. Shoe string fries are a bit uninspired. The fishermans basket was average, as... More

So I was reading Trip Advisor and this place came up as serving good seafood, I always eat at Rockwall but I thought Id listen to the word on the street. Last night we sent the Barramundi back it was gooey and it smelt funny, on the second try it was better but they still didn't get it right and... More

My husband and I generally come once a year to this restaurant as a treat. It was a public holiday and a Sat night last night however the meals were hot the way I like them and in a timely manner plenty of staff to cover a completely full house. Main meal went for Sultans Wok being gluten free it... More

HUGE dissapointment. Little more than basic pub food with fried and battered seafood at restaurant prices served by McDonalds graduates - not hospitality trained staff. Go across the harbour to Mares Upper balcone - See my review.

I was pleasantly surprised how awesome this restaurant was. It had great ambience, cool atmosphere and the food was great. They had some interesting fish plates on the menu and both my husband and i were very satisfied. The fish was also very fresh. Service was okay, the usual for aus. Overall, I definitely recommend going here!

Nice setting, seats all around, found very hot and stuffy inside. Not a seafood eater there was only one option that they offered that was not seafood and the dishes they offered as a steaming plate with seafood really heated up the place as well as a smell that was not really pleasant for a non-seafood person. Accompanying people who... More
