Nothing wrong with this place for a good feed. We arrived without reservation, place was busy, we had to wait a minute but eventually they found us a seat. Orders were taken promptly and food also came quickly. We only had to wait a few minutes between Entrée and Main. Every one was friendly and smiling. The place is decked... More

Deep fried food , little taste over the top price wise ! Service was okay but we kept getting asked if everything was okay by different waiting staff which did become annoying after the fourth person !

What a fantastic place to enjoy seafood, yes the atmosphere was lively but it was not over bearing and we both enjoyed our conversations without trouble. Best part of the dining out was food. I had the seafood chowder and it simply fantastic. I enjoy a nice chowder and the Drunken Admiral's rated very highly. It was flavoursome and a... More

Some of the things we ate were amazing... some were awful. The seafood platter was terrible! The octopus was slimy, the mousse tasted old... That said, the seafood chowder was delicious and the baked salmon and oysters were awesome. It was just so inconsistent! The meals are expensive and I have no faith that what you get will be any... Nicely pirate themed, was excited by the decoration and atmosphere when walked in. Staff was very friendly and useful in giving advice on food choice. from lookin at menu, seems like the chief has added fusion tastes in some dish. Ordered main course seafood chowder, loved it! Very creamy and lots of fresh meaty seafood. Partner ordered mussels, sauce was... More

Went there recently with friends and relived memories from 20 years ago when we lived in Hobart. The service was great and the food still excellent. I always compare every seafood chowder to the one I had 20 years ago here and none have met my standards. So please to see that Drunken Admiral still has the best seafood chowder... More
