Had dinner here with my partner on a Saturday night. Rang to make a reservation and was told there were two sittings 6.15 or 8.15pm. Wanted 7pm but opted for the 8.15pm which was a bit late for us but were told if we took the 6.15 we would have to be out by 8pm. Had the entrée seafood chowder... More

I had no idea this was a themed restaurant until I got there, and I was thinking the worst as one usually does on entering a themed venue! The food however was spectacular, huge serves, to the point where I couldn't finish my meal! All the seafood was fresh, menu was marked with gluten free options (extra points for that!)... More

Certainly a busy place, we were glad we booked as many were turned away on this Sunday night. We had the Sydney to Hobart (hot and cold) seafood platter which is a generous size and left us both very full. The fried selection was very nice and fresh, and the cold seafood was lovely especially the oysters. We like the... More

Food was OK. It was just SO packed and noisy - it certainly isn't a place for a romantic dinner. The cocktail I ordered was over $15 and pretty small and just average. Don't think I could go back.

Made a last minute booking for 13 people on a Monday night, didn't arrive until about 8pm, the staff were awesome, nothing was to much trouble and they even stayed open a bit longer rather than asking us to leave. Everyone enjoyed there meals and there cocktails were awesome as well.

Would highly recommend Drunken Admiral. Have been here several times and never disappointed. Although I little more expensive than the average seafood restaurant, the food is fresh and well cooked. The Shippie's Grill is great, and a little fun, where you get to wear a very attractive bib and cook the food yourself on a sizzling little grill. Only negative... More

Had a lovely seafood dinner tonight, fresh fish and chips, salad and cosy atmosphere. Nice ambience, great value. Try to book ahead, we were lucky to get a table, but many guests were turned away as they had no reservation. Service is fast and friendly. I recommend the NZ wines for best taste. Delightful dessert menu available. My partner had... More

Me and work colleagues (4 of us), went to have dinner at 805pm on a Wednesday 3rd September. Although there were free tables we were told that the kitchen was closed. I see this as a very bad customers service at 8pm. Will never go to this place again.

Thank you for your review. We apologise that we were unable to provide you with a table and dinner service on the night that you came in. The reality is your group came into the restaurant later than the time mentioned and our last reservation we had on the books for the evening was in fact at 8.00pm. After the... More

I go to this restaurant every time I am in Hobart as it is unmissable!!! Each time we get the Main meal seafood chowder which is truly divine. the Salmon hotrock is exquisite, and honestly you can not gO wrong with any item on the menu. The dessert menu is a wonderful end whilst having one of the range of... More
