For a delicious seafood meal, make sure you visit the Drunken Admiral Restaurant, on the wharf in Hobart. The Tasmanian salmon was beautiful, and the scallops were delicious - very lightly done in breadcrumbs. In keeping with it's name and location, the restaurant is decorated with many, many marine items from years gone by. The restaurant is large, but is... More

The food was sooo yummy and the staff so friendly. The room was so well decked out. Went there twice. A must to go. But you must book as very busy.

We visited the restaurant expecting delicious seafood and we were not disappointed. It was crowded but were still seated quickly and once our order had been placed were were pleasantly surprised at the prompt arrival of our food. I had the hot and cold seafood banquet, a varied plate of delectable seafood morsels. YUM! My dining partner had the seafood... More

Last Minute booking, they apparently have two sittings, but the the early sitting suited us fine. Quaint interior, very cluttered but adds to the ambience of the restaurant. The food was very good, the chowder was excellent and the oysters very good, mains were aslo very good, all fresh sea food. The staff are very efficient and friendly and the... More

Had Dinner here with a work colleague during our time in Hobart. He was raving about this place for weeks and finally decided to make a booking. A very deceiving restaurant from the outside, I would have never walked in if it wasn't for him, however inside I felt like I was on the ship of Jack Sparrow. It was... More

Visiting Tasmania recently I booked the "Drunken Admiral" for our wedding anniversary dinner. I corresponded with Simon who recommended the "brig" (a cosy room for 2 in the bow of the ship) for our booking. On arrival we were greeted by both receptionist and waitress who congratulated us on our anniversary. The food and wine was excellent as was the... More

Very fresh sea food. Tried the chowder which was great. The hot rock salmon was good too. The interiors replicate the inside if a ship with beautiful artifacts. The scallop starters are amazing as well. Pretty pricey at $30-$40 for mains. But the quality of food is amazing. Recommended if you like seafood!!

Want a cosy meal in, surrounded by seafaring paraphernalia? This is the place. Filled with atmosphere and character, backed up with excellent service by happy, cheerful staff, and the freshest of seafood beautifully cooked. A recipe for a great night out. Prices fair, and a good selection of wines. Other foods available if you are not into seafood. Best to... More

We enjoyed a delicious seafood meal at this restaurant. There were five of us in our party and we all enjoyed our meals. Especially yummy were Hook, Line and Sinker and also Port Starboard a seafood banquet selection. Good selection of wines and we loved the quirky decor.
