On the harbour with great atmosphere

Good enough that we went there two. Others in a row. The steamed mussels were to die for. Constructed like the inside of an old ship, lots of atmosphere and tables to keep you private if needed too

We have made a point to come to this restaurant every time we have been in Hobart. The seafood is always fresh and the service great. Setting is great with all sorts of nautical themes. There is two seatings so it is best to go to the second one so you can "linger longer"

What a Gem! From the moment you walk in you are ensconced in the wonderful atmosphere of The Drunken Admiral. The theme isn't over done, and it's fun for the kids. Our son was entranced the whole meal, he loved every nook and cranny. Mums and Dads have an excellent choice of local beers and wines and the food is... More

The Drunken Admiral was right next to our hotel, so we thought we would go and try the seafood. It was 6 pm on a Monday night in March, and the place was jam-packed. There seemed to be a lot of parties going on. We had just arrived in town, so we had not had time to make a booking.... More

This is not a review but just information regarding the restaurant timings. It was highly recommended to us for its seafood. We went there for our last meal in Hobart. Unfortunately, it was closed - since they only serve dinner. Location on the docks was perfect.

This place has a good reputation... but.... I feel that the prices aren't really justified by the quality, originality or size of the meals.... Not saying that it's a bad place, but three of us went for dinner.... my Marrakech was good, could have been bigger, the other two meals were fine, just not worth it.... No booking, but no... More

If you enjoy your seafood, this established, much-loved restaurant is the place to visit on your trip to Hobart. The freshest fish, shellfish and more, cooked to perfection and served by a staff who seem to love what they do. Gee, it can get busy, but don't let that put you off. Book ahead to avoid disappointment. My wife had... More

While generally a seafood restaurant the non seafood dishes are plentiful and good. The service is friendly and swift. Always a good night at the Drunken Admiral.

When you walk in you feel like you have walked into a movie prop shop for a pirate movie. The service is friendly and meals come out quickly, we really enjoyed our meals infact the potion size I felt was ample. While your waiting for your meals have a wander around and take plenty of photos! It's like dinner and... More
