We went to Preachers for a quick lunch during a day of sightseeing in Hobart. A close walk from our accommodation at the St Ives Apartments, it was a perfect spot on a sunny day. Both of us decided on the beef burger, accompanying it with a glass of pino gris and a cider. The burger was huge and filled... More

What a great pub! Plenty of beers, ciders, and other drinks on offer. The staff new a lot about them all and were enthusiastic about their advice. The highlight was sitting in the bus outside while the rain pelted down.

We elected to forego the nightly dinner and just hit lots of little bars/pubs in and around Hobart - getting a small bite of something at each place. This was a riot! There are so many wonderful places to choose from. One of our favorites was Preachers around the corner (and up the hill) from Salamanca Square. It might even... More

This place is so much fun! From the bingo on the bus, to amazing pub meals that cater to vegans and vegetarians, the yummiest warm cider on a cold winters day and the lovely bar staff. They serve such a large variety of ciders on tap and have very good knowledge about the local brews. Its very cute, in the... More

Popped in here after work on Friday for a few quiet ones. And on an above-average temperature winter's evening, the beer garden was full of happy, chatty groups of friends. Plenty of places to sit outside, including beanbags, and a bus! We opted for a seat on the bus with our local ciders. Good selection of local beers, and our... More

Nice enough atmosphere, great heritage premises and has a decent selection of beers but a minimal menu and no coffee available...

Having heard great reviews I was almost anxious. The atmosphere was relaxed and laid back, the outdoor area absolutely perfect for Friday night drinks with friends. Food dishes were shared and delicious, excellent local beer and cider selections. Only thing to fault - due to no uniform standard it was hard to tell who was and wasn't staff! Absolutely excellent... More

Service is good, had better beer and as for the food medico, meat balls with chutney sauce were rissoles with jared chutney. Local beers only. Which I like some, but no larger or bitters to choose from at all. Had better!

Preachers is one of those places that you are happy to come back to time & time again. Summer or Winter, the place has a relaxed & welcoming vibe with the option to sit inside or enjoy the beer garden. Beer choice is extensive & varied and although I'm yet to have a meal here, the menu always looks awesome.... More
