Nice enough atmosphere, great heritage premises and has a decent selection of beers but a minimal menu and no coffee available...

Having heard great reviews I was almost anxious. The atmosphere was relaxed and laid back, the outdoor area absolutely perfect for Friday night drinks with friends. Food dishes were shared and delicious, excellent local beer and cider selections. Only thing to fault - due to no uniform standard it was hard to tell who was and wasn't staff! Absolutely excellent... More

Service is good, had better beer and as for the food medico, meat balls with chutney sauce were rissoles with jared chutney. Local beers only. Which I like some, but no larger or bitters to choose from at all. Had better!

Preachers is one of those places that you are happy to come back to time & time again. Summer or Winter, the place has a relaxed & welcoming vibe with the option to sit inside or enjoy the beer garden. Beer choice is extensive & varied and although I'm yet to have a meal here, the menu always looks awesome.... More

Was recommended this place by a local and it did not disappoint, great beers, especially the mountain goat, sitting in the sun in the garden bar

This seems like the place to go in Hobart. The beer selection was good and I loved the 'can't decide' bowl and also the wish list blackboard (which contained some excellent selections!). When I am back in Hobart I will be back here!

We stumbled across Preachers on a recent stay in Battery Point and what a great find it was. Reasonably priced local wines and beers and great tapas menu (the calamari is sensational and the chips are delicious). If the weather is fine you can sit out in the pleasant garden or if not it's very cosy inside.

What better way to settle into a long weekend in Hobart! A couple of delicious (slightly expensive) pints of boutique beer, some delicious tempura-battered mushrooms and excellent fries, sitting in the sunny courtyard. I come to Preachers at least once every time I visit Hobart.

I visited Preachers for evening drinks, and was generally impressed with the place. However, we went back for our second round of drinks when a malfunction behind the bar lead to alcohol being sprayed all over me. The bartender responsible, instead of apologising immediately, fled the scene and failed to even acknowledge the situation. It was embarrassing to say the... More
