One of these trendy, overpriced arty places. Service good. Food and coffee very average. Very disappointing.

Wow, what a little gem of a place. Super friendly staff and the food!.. Obviously made with care and passion. We loved it so much; we dined here two times... So fresh, and by the taste - organic. The house made crumpets with caramelized nectarine's are to die for! You must try. The best! I also had the vege salad,... More

A great little cafe for a coffee, breakfast or lunch. The food quality is better than most popular breakfast spots in Hobart and the service is friendly and prompt. Highly recommended.

I love Ginger Brown! The staff are some of the loveliest I've ever encountered, the atmosphere is refreshingly hip for Hobart, and the food is delicious and unique. It's always super busy, which is a good sign, but also means you should try to book. The only thing I can fault Ginger Brown on is the coffee, which in my... More

Hobart has quite a few good options when it comes to breakfast and lunch, but Ginger Brown would be in my top 2. The food is a little bit different (today I had Welsh Rarebit with confit duck and maple bacon, wife had an omelette with beef and spring onion inside), but always delicious. The cafe has a retro look,... More

I can not rate Ginger Brown enough!! Coffee is great, service is excellent and the house mad crumpets with vanilla butter are to die for! Although it's always busy I don't mind, the atmosphere makes for a great coffee spot. If your keen on getting a spot for the weekend then book ahead. It's such a great little place it's... More

Tried ginger brown on quite a few occasions but won't be back as too crowded on the weekend and impossible to get a seat. Food is ok, coffee is good.

The menu is interesting as is the decor. There is a great emphasis on brunch dishes, lots of egg options. The smoked Salmon, creamed leeks, poached egg, crispy prosciutto & beetroot chutney was a really tasty meal. Every mouthful made me want more. The Wallaby Couscous Salad with pickled a Ginger was equally as exciting for the taste buds. They... More

It's the perfect cafe for a Saturday or Sunday brunch, or to have a rest after a long walk on Mt.Wellington or a bike ride. It's very busy during the weekend.
